this was the biggest thing for me with butchery being second, once butchery is in i consider adv mode in a playable state
Yeah butchery is the biggest thing. I was super disappointed when I learned the most reliable way to forage for food as an animal person was to find a human house with food in it. All the human hamlets in my 500+ year old world were super population dense and the game ran horribly. Butchery is the biggest thing, but this is a great step in the right direction.

I have a solution for that-you can become a vampire, so you won't need to butcher
Definitely was waiting for this ability menu! Now I can use my necromancer adventurer to resurrect a dragon corpse that’s been sitting in my fortress for this very moment!!!!
Thanks for the update video! :) I am waiting for the "full" release after I discovered that there are too many things missing to actually have "fun" with Adventure Mode. Butcher menu seems to be important, so I am waiting for this too. And I hope building and crafting will be added soon, so I can build myself a house and then go on adventure like in Skyrim and such. Thats were the fun for me would start in Adventure Mode!
I initially tried out the Beta branch with the new updates, but it still feels a bit too barebones for what I wanted to do given the full Adventure Mode isn’t quite finished yet. So I’m currently waiting for that to be closer to done before diving back into it fully.

I’m really waiting for it to go to the main branch because when I play fortress mode after retiring an adventure, it crashes often

Kinda unrelated to the video, but i really hope that the Myths and magic update comes out by the end of next year. This is the only update i am excited for, and after its release is when i will actually start playing adv mode.

Unfortunately Necromancer towers are still kinda bug and crashy but i hope that is going to get fixed soon
Im kinda taking a break atm, cuz I went fortress mode. I would like the ability to generate a necromancer, in a young world that don't have towers. Im trying to find a way to do that somehow, hopefully someday.

This game is taking up so much of my mind. I have yet to touch adventure mode. Videos like this make me think I should wait.
Most of the time I use just a mouse and I have to say, I'm not a fan of the implementation of this left click to move to distant tiles. Now I feel like I NEED the keyboard, either to confirm the movement or just to use the keyboard itself to move. This problem is amplified due to the fact that I have TKL keyboard. Previous system was not perfect either but at least I could play by using only mouse. The hope was that it would work something like ... holding the left click for certain period of time would trigger an auto clicker. In fact, that's exactly what I did with my programmable mouse and the movement felt perfect. Sad that it's not something you can't toggle off in settings.
I'm personally waiting for butchery and the guided demigod stuff, since that's the thing that made me the most excited for Adventure mode on Steam back when it was first announced. I'll probably mess around with it anyway once butchery is re-added because I've been itching to adventure as non-gobbos, but I'll only really dive in for real with the guided demigod stuff.
I would say, most of the time I end up with quite the boring/empty-ish world generated where I would need to try hard to find enemies and in case of caverns, like... an hour to find a few crocodiles or frogs... That might be a good topic to learn how to generate an awesome world for adventure mode to have the most harsh fun. So far the zombie tombs were more or less action-heavy.
I'm waiting for the main branch, actually I didn't play fort mode for a long time because of that, want to start a new world.

so does it prevent the necromancer to resurect everybody automatic or will it still act on it own?
If you are a creature which can roll up c can you roll when moving and are you immune to damage when rolled up.. what I'm getting at is it you get attacked can you roll up and roll away from combat whilst soaking up damage at no cost because you are rolled up..

Adventure mode is still grayed out for me in the new game menus. Do you have a special edition that allows you to play or am I missing something? The wiki also claims that adventure mode got removed pending more updates. Would love to try out adventure mode though.

You might need to opt in to the beta under the Steam properties for the game.
Waiting for the crashy linux version to be uncrashy. I don't run X and so I can't run proton etc. The native Linux version works great under straight Wayland (when it's not crashy). Love this update. Thank you! I didn't seem to receive a newsletter about it coming out. Did I miss it or am I misunderstanding the granularity of your newsletters?

You can pet dog. The gamemode needs no more. Jokes aside, I'd really like the journal thing to be back because I'm really terrible at keeping track of things. Though if I had to choose which update comes first then I'd definitely go for Butchering/Crafting.
Portraits for semi-megabeasts and some megabeasts have also been added in this update

Yeah, I'm not messing around with Adventure Mode until butchering is in. Too tedious to find human settlements to steal food from, and it can feel inappropriate for certain characters.
Have never played Adventure Mode... waiting for the green light from you when features have matured... especially things like butchering.
Does this mean that playing something like a black mamba man biter is viable now? Or is the syndrome something else
As for me, adventure mode is barely playable. Literally, 4 out of 5 quests lack targets. No quest navigation. Cave or place is there, but no one lives there. Search in dialogs doesn't work properly. Bragging about adventures has no effect. No abilities. Citizens can't properly locate anyone in the city. Found some captured elfs, how can't tell me where they are from, since no option. No quest navigation. Anyway, looks promising, but too many quality improvements still needed.
I have never been so angry as I've been made by this video. Crabs can't spit? You're gonna be real sorry the next time your face is (for w/e reason) 3-4 inches from a crab!

Great nitpicking, they're finishing adventure mode up and then continuing with other stuff buddy
An enormous chunk of changes. The work train is reaching ultrasonic speeds. Watch out, the adventure mode that feels like a complete game might hit you any decade now!
