Wasn't aware the vintage one didn't have a backlight?! Still a very very cool looking watch that I am glad they brought it back

I actually thought mine was broken for while after I got it. 😅

I love the old version only because it has 2 windows with full 60 bars!

I was a year old in 1992 when the original DW5900 was released along with other crazy pieces that was released that year.

Introduced in year 1992. So it's basically older than DW-5600!

Malaysian made models is old and way before G-Shock got popular. Hence, not a lot of people knew about them. Same goes for ones made in Korea. Good luck looking for them!

I have the first generation fully made in japan , i just got the re-issue one i love it , the only thing i'm not a fan of is the el backlight , i'm glad casio decided to bring this classic back.

Thanks for the video! Do you know where I can get a bezel for that original DW-5900 (no backlight)?

Just purchased the new released version 2 weeks ago. But I like more the old version. The backlight function is something I hardly ever use in any watch. The left and right eyes feature from the old one, is just so cool to see. The main reason I bought this one is merely nostalgia, it takes me back to the 90s every time I see the dial of this watch.

I feel exactly the same and I just purchased the old one on ebay, the same as I did when I was 13 in 92! so cool watch!!

search for G-Shock bible, you'll find it. Casio release several version every few years

new one of course, cause its BOSS SD1/OD3 inspired so thats wicked, not boring ass black

I am old school, so I like the one in black. I own the new version. I still like and the old version.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia but I didn't have any Malaysia made G-Shock in my collection. I got a Japan made G and also China made G. I tried to find any Malaysia model but it's very hard to get.

Some DW-003, DW-9000, G-2000 will have Malaysia Made engine.

The problem with this series is that the face is big but the actual digital display is too small.

@@gshockhighfashion I bought the new version. So sad they changed its functionality for the sake or world time. Now my Casio Royale(?) has a lot more features than this "remastered" G Shock.

Vintage made malaysia

Casio should’ve kept the original display with analog clock in upper left eye, and counting seconds on right eye. All they had to do was add a backlight..That’s it! The watch was a far more practical and better looking IMO the way it was setup in the earlier version. 30 years down the road and they take a step back. 🙄
