Every time DVRST releases a new song, initially I'm unsure where to place it, but as it concludes I immediately start liking it and can listen to it indefinitely alongside his other pieces. It took me a while to realize why this is: you really can't confine his work to an exact genre. He possesses his own style, aesthetics and message allowing him to experiment as he wishes. It doesn't even feel like experimentation because he manages to remain so original. The songs alone are great, but he also paints a unique picture by exploring different directions and nobody should question that as long as he keeps staying true to himself. He created Close Eyes, which goes well with any of his songs, but I wouldn't say he's creating drift phonk - unless he is and is just defining the genre :D This, in my opinion, is what signifies a great artist

Since you realeased « Close eyes » I follow you on Spotify ect… It’s been almost 3 years and I see a huge progress, you starting to make more complete songs with a sort of cosmic phonk and make an universe with the sounds you use, most of the artists just put drums sounds and an effect they edit it and their music is ready but you, you make it different, that’s why you are definitely the artist that I respect the most because you made progress since old library passing by Dream Space Close eyes.. to this other banger.
