What’s really funny to me is that the themes explored in Serial Experiments Lain ARE actually more relevant to the present day and present time, rather than to the 90s. In the 90s, it was more of a sci-fi exploration of what might be. Now, when you watch SEL, it’s like, “yeah dang, they’re literally just depicting reality right now.” It’s almost like that guy laughing in the intro was laughing because people in the 90s watching it had no idea how true all of that would be some day.

It just makes me want to listen to this song read a book and sit in a local park under a tree while it’s raining.
