As a language minor (and nutrition major of all things) I'd say Dutch is the last language you gotta be scared of as an English speaker. Dutch is easier for English speakers to learn than any other and is a great gateway to learning African languages since learning it makes it easy to learn Afrikaans, which makes it easy to learn other languages from Africa. So it's also more useful than you'd think.

A couple of years ago I was interested in Dutch but I didn't want to spend the time to learn it because I didn't think it was practical. But I saw these videos and thought "I don't want to be fluent in Dutch but I could learn a thousand words." I enjoyed it so much I got Duolingo and started that course in addition to learndutch org. I'm still not good at Dutch but I still enjoy studying it. I'm checking to see if I know the words in this course.

I find your videos so helpful as they are so easy for me to follow as I do my best to learn Dutch, hopefully I can get the link to download the vocabularies to read through while I'm offline. Dankuwel!

Hi Bart, I spent some time in Holland when I was very young & had the pleasure of working there some 20 years ago & was delighted to find that, although I couldn't remember many words, I could understand the "structure" of the language!
