Table manners: both hands always stay above the table. Knife in right hand , fork in left hand. Never hold your fork vertically on the plate. It is amazing that this disappeared in the USA, because most of the Americans originate from Europe where these tables manners are way older than the USA.

Just a tip. If your table is set correctly, you never mess up your utensils. It's fork, plate knife, spoon (when you start with soup). Fork stays left in your left hand, knife and spoon stay right in your right hand. And it's meat potatoes and any vegetable... Not just red cabbage.

Thank you for your kind words. You're right about how Brabant and Limburg have different pronunciation, which can sound confusion to a lot of people. But after a while, you get used to it and might appreciate the differences. (Brabants is considered the sexiest accent, btw. Probably because of that soft 'g' sound we have)

Thanks for the awesome story, and your Dutch is very great since you were in The Netherlands and Belgum for just 2 years. 👍🏻 The Netherlands is indeed rainy. Lately there was also a very thick mist, from 165ft to less than 40ft 🌫... That is not always the case. I live in the city of 's-Hertogenbosch (22 miles from Eindhoven). Last summer was very hot.. It could get around between 80f and 100f. the first heatwave was unbearable without an AC. Not long after I got one, and even with an AC it was just doable with 78-79f.🥵 Also happy newyear!🎆 And a good and healthy 2020 Greets, Bas from The Netherlands Ps. the 'a' in my name is pronounced as the 'a' in 'car', but short
