Not that I don't like A.dam but I think it's the same as saying New York represents the entire USA.
There is one thing dutch people like most. Hearing people talk about the dutch.
The weather is so weird... Like I go to school in a hoodie because it was cold and raining in the morning, then I go home sweating because of the sun...
Mostly Dutch people watch this 😂😂😂

Meat, potatoes, and vegetables not just red cabbage LOL
“Gourmetten” Amazing how he says that And I like how he says “Rotterdam”
for 2 years dutch.. you speak clear and understandable dutch and that's more than respectable!!!! my compliments and de groeten uit hoogvliet Rotterdam :-)
Etiquette 101 : If you are holding a knife, you are left with a fork.
The dutch at the end was good sir!
You seem like a genuinely nice guy. Take care.

SOMUCHPHANDOMS !! Haha same
You're amazing dude. Everything you explained was either true or very close to true. Thank you for being such an open spirited and true hearted guy. Your Dutch is also excellent for just 2 years. Being straightforward and honest is number one priority when visiting the Netherlands. Speak your mind and we'll gladly interact. But don't be offended too easily! We don't mean any harm :)
Dude comes across as a real chill person to hang out with. I would absolutely share a drink with him.
Deze gast is geweldig!! 👏🏼
the bit at the end was heartfelt and heartwarming. wholesome.
Table manners: both hands always stay above the table. Knife in right hand , fork in left hand. Never hold your fork vertically on the plate. It is amazing that this disappeared in the USA, because most of the Americans originate from Europe where these tables manners are way older than the USA.
Admirable for two years in the Netherlands and talking like that; that's worth a big compliment.
One of the nicest things I’ve heard an American say about the netherlands
Living in the Netherlands for two years and your Dutch is really good. A lot of people are living here all their live and do not speak Dutch or very very bad. So good job!!!!!!
Such a heartwarming person! Best wishes for 2020
Really love seeing this as a dutchie, he really knows his dutch things. And nice to see your view on it.
Aww that last line of gratitude in Dutch was nice. Glad you liked it! Welcome back any time :)
Ahwww! geen probleem! haha so nice :) I'm from Rotterdam, feel free to walk around at 3 or 4 o clock in the night it's no problem... Just don't poke the bears haha
I loved this review of our Dutch culture. Glad that you enjoyed us and we are happy to have visitors like you.
Just a tip. If your table is set correctly, you never mess up your utensils. It's fork, plate knife, spoon (when you start with soup). Fork stays left in your left hand, knife and spoon stay right in your right hand. And it's meat potatoes and any vegetable... Not just red cabbage.

Dude, the way you speak dutch within 2 years is great. You speak better dutch than many people who live here for way longer than that. Respect!!!!

You seem like such an amazing guy genuine and nice. The dutchies welcome you
My husband is Dutch and we go back every yr to see his family in Almere. Every time we go I always want to stay longer! Plus I think he likes it too because he blends in better since he’s 6’9” & in the states he just gets stares and people asking the same questions over & over...
Great to hear especially that last part in Dutch, very well pronounced
What a warm video! Glad you enjoyed your stay here, sorry about the rain! 👍😊
What a nice dude! Big up! I studied in the Netherlands and the remark about the rain is absolutely on point!
Just wanted to say I'm impressed by your grasp of the pronunciation of Ducth words you showed at the end. Things like the hard g-sound etc aren't very easy but you did a solid job.
It’s so funny to see him talking POSITIVE about my country
Also, I love the english accent to the dutch language, I have a teacher who's an englishman, and it's always so funny!
Mitch!! Oh come on, we have more than just Rode kool. :) It is good to see you and listen to you, good sir. We are dankbaar that you came to The Netherlands!.
Well spoken😏 I'm Dutch and I live near Hoorn and compared to Amsterdam, everything is very different already even though it's a 30-35mins drive😅 And the rain.. We get used to it XD It stays irritating, but we're used to it😏🙃

hey, bro, I am from Rotterdam and I really love how you explained it, cheers.
What a beautiful person! He really seems to have an open mind and heart!
He can have sunshine, rain, snow, storm, hail all in one day here. It puts a ? on most foreigners faces. Gold
Love your open mind and respect your Dutch, given the fact that almost everybody will answer in English when Americans start to communicate in the Netherlands. :-)
cool story ! have a great 2020 and greetings from the netherlands! PS we love you to! ^^)
Wauw love this guy. It is really easy to like this guy. Always feel welcome to come back again.

Dude. As an American who has lived in The Netherlands since 1999, I am so proud of your open minded intelligence. You observe not judge. You accept instead of bitching it is Not like America. Thank you for explaining how being direct is better then BS. This trait has given me a home. Good young man.
Glad to have you mate!

Wow what an awesome dude! The words at the end were really touching! Almost everything he said is spot on! The only comment I have is it’s potatoes meat and vegetables instead of red cabbage 😉 hehe. But this is the first time I heard someone from an other country talk in a KZread video about the Netherlands in a honest and true way!
Nice story men ..... I am from the city Amsterdam in the Netherlands And your dutch on the end of your story is good !! Peace
Nice to hear how you enjoyed The Netherlands. Next time visit the east of Holland. You’ll love it! it’s much more layed back, more open space and you’ll feel more relaxed to stay out late😉
thanx 4 the real emotions at the end.
Haha so relatable and so True! Haha. I live in Rotterdam, I love how you tell it with so much ❤🙏 i hope to see the US soon and feel the American dream, and by the way you speak very good Dutch! 🙌 😉😊
haha houses sticked together, that called a rijtjeshuis honn
like a true dutchman : a phlegmatic view and analysis !
Wow! Forget about the red cabbage dude! You're right about the rest! I'm glad to hear an American say something (nice) about my hometown Rotterdam, cause for tourists it's always Amst....Amster....Am...oh 020!😁 Love to see you visit us again. Try the province of Zeeland, you'll love it. Sea, beaches, great food and good, honest folk. Your Dutch at the end was great! Btw, what exactly did you do in Holland?
I allready love this man
Nice story! Dankjewel ouwe :)
Thank you for your kind words. You're right about how Brabant and Limburg have different pronunciation, which can sound confusion to a lot of people. But after a while, you get used to it and might appreciate the differences. (Brabants is considered the sexiest accent, btw. Probably because of that soft 'g' sound we have)
Your welcome buddy, your Dutch is pretty good!
Thanks for the awesome story, and your Dutch is very great since you were in The Netherlands and Belgum for just 2 years. 👍🏻 The Netherlands is indeed rainy. Lately there was also a very thick mist, from 165ft to less than 40ft 🌫... That is not always the case. I live in the city of 's-Hertogenbosch (22 miles from Eindhoven). Last summer was very hot.. It could get around between 80f and 100f. the first heatwave was unbearable without an AC. Not long after I got one, and even with an AC it was just doable with 78-79f.🥵 Also happy newyear!🎆 And a good and healthy 2020 Greets, Bas from The Netherlands Ps. the 'a' in my name is pronounced as the 'a' in 'car', but short
Nice that he did the effort to learn Dutch .
Your dutch pronunciation is awesome and I think you've got your facts exactly right. Respect! Come visit again anytime :-)
Yep, pretty accurate. Missed stampot tho :)
This guy is not your typical American, he recognized and learned from the differences in culture. It's funny that he mentioned Gourmetten; grilling and frying meat in small pans which is a tradition during New Years Eve. However In the US; Gourmet style food means refined and performed by a chef! Good for you man that you have nice memories of the Netherlands and thanks for sharing!
zeer leuk gast! thanx
Your Dutch is not bad at all ^_^, Good to hear that you enjoyed it :D
