It's not fair to compare. We have over 30 years of experience and came up with this shit. The ausies have nice moves, but they got nothing on us Dutchies.
The word hakken means heels in Dutch, it has many different styles and moves. I think other countries only see the extremes, and they try and copy that. The main thing here in the Netherlands is that you don't stand still, and have fun with friends. Nothing beats a little crazy dance time after a hard week of working! It doesn't matter if it looks good!

Sorry, but I have to correct you. You told oeoole what the word hakkuh/ hakken means. It ain’t means heals my friend. I’m Dutch and hakken means like tjop a tree with an ax. Or make a smaller block of wood with an ax. Chopping means Hakken in Dutch. Why that name? Because in the 90iies hakken had like static movements with the feet and arms. Arms and feet make movements kind like chopping something. The name Gabber is a Jiddish word for friend, mate, buddy.. in the 90ies Gabber was one big family. We did the handshake. There was so much solidarity. You can’t compare it. I’m a little proud that I was there when Gabber was born in Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Such a small country (search on a map) where we build a subculture like skating in the US. It begane slowly getting more and more populair in the foreign countries. Hardcore is globel now. I’m not arrogant but it is so big now and social media helps maybe but it is still the sub culture that began in my motherland. I see that this new generation respect the early tracks and are also proud to be a gabber 👊🏻So, someone said early in the 90ies Hardcore will never die. So now we see the first🫶🏻 generation with the new generation together hakkuh. I’ m 45 and still going to a few fesrivals. Not as much as rhen but when I go, I go through the pain and keep on going. The guy was right. Hardcore will never die!

@hyperball01 Well said, I was just thinking the same. Its a party not a contest. It's all about enjoying the music, enjoying the vibes and offcourse bust your best "Hakk" skills. The way you like, how you like and feel like. I mean as a fellow Dutch raver I've had and still get my fair share of rave party's. Last one I've visited was DefQon1 couple of days ago. Anyways I agree and share you're opinion. It's all about having a great time. And waking up with tinnitus (ring in you're ear) LoL jk about the tinnitus. Anyway its a draw in my opinion. I'm neutral

Damn Dutchies be making like surgically precise movements, and nonchalantly too, as if they can't walk a yard without seeing someone chucking hakks, but you Aussies unleash that primal tweaker kangaroo energy, and one *must* respect that. I dunno dude, y'all did great in your own style and that's cool, love it. So happy gabber came back tbh, it made intergenerational dialogue super easy. I'm convinced that there's two things that can forge alliances until the heat death of the Universe: 1) dogs (and I'm a cat guy btw) 2) music

The hard dance Melbourne shuffle was even better, back before hardstyle overthrew all of our Melbourne clubs. Back when 3D was the first stop on a Friday night, and Bass station at the palace in St Kilda was the pinnacle scene. Then hardstyle happened and the shuffle became more aggression and less finesse.

In the USA, you see some really interesting interpretations of the hakk. Truthfully, our domestic scenes don't offer a whole lot for hard dance, so I'm sure most people are just copying whatever they saw online. I'd say I dance a bit more like the Dutch. I usually like the forward step and my hakk is more "loose" like theirs.

It's a hard one. From what I've seen here and across other videos and in person, the Aussie Hakken always seems a bit more... military? Like a march. On kick and sharp with precision. The Dutch Hakkuh has always seemed a lot more free-flowing and expressive. Individually, Hakkuk wins, but nothing like seeing a line of 5-10 people in a crowd basically syncronised aus-hakking.

I don't hakk at all but I love seeing people hakk . It's mesmerizing . Look at the girls ! so good !
As a dutchman myself, i can tell you dont try to hard, it’s no competition or use all energy in 3 minutes. Less is more, focus on the music and your natural “hakken” moves, find your own style. Copying other people just looks weird…

As an Aussie that was there from the beginnings of the rave scene and subsequently the start of Hardcore, I couldn’t choose either as the Netherlands started that shit for all intents and purposes and we fukn loved it🤘🏻 Adelaide was probably the biggest scene outside of Europe then and Dutch big name DJ were at many of our events bangin sick sets, not to mention the labels and iconic tracks which still flavour todays hardcore sounds. This video was somehow in my feed and a few tracks just triggered old memories! I moved on from hardcore after it’s first dive and matured tastes to the Hard House that ripened here and some Free Form but if the bpm and flavour of the hardcore is right, my love is still where it started. 🤘🏻😵💫😵
