Now that I live in India I miss some of these foods dearly and I love to introduce every visitor in my former home town Amsterdam to these amazing traditional Dutch foods. Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.

I have 1 more stroopwafel tip: I always get the 'koek kruimels' you see at 2:29. These are baggies filled with 'failed fresh stroopwafels' and not only are they super cheap (see here 60 cent, and there's like 3 big stroopwafels as chunks inside) they are suuuper delicious, it's like clusters of stroopwafels you can snack on. Absolutely amazing and super under appreciated.

It one my favourite places in Europe. I visited Amsterdam after following you when back in the day. I have been twice and hope to visit again. I loved the licorice and fries with mayonaise.

You have to try the herring with unions and pickels. So Dutch. Boerenkool stamppot met worst ( meshed kale with smoked sausage ) in the winter is also very good. Hutspot ( meshed carrot/union and potato ) I also did not see in other countries. And don't forget Hagelslag ( chocolate sprinkles ) and drop (licorice ).

The best sausages that i have tasted ( i haven’t tried many). Zwan sausages. Holland. Years ago it used to be available in super markets here. It was expensive, but was worth it. I no longer see it in super markets. I want to taste it again . Im trying to import some.

From my curiosity of Suriname, checked ur travel vlogs in Suriname, then to vlog of red light area in Amsterdam and to here at 2:23 am Indonesia's time 😂😂 Hopefully God will give me opportunity to visit Netherlands and Suriname someday. One thing in my mind that amazed me, despite all the bad things about colonisation back in the old times...it happened also under His control for His purpose and plans to be done 😊
I never realted to that eggy part until I saw you saying n then eating any desert with egg is never same for me. I always taste n check if it is too eggy n that put me off

@@patricktrakzel9657 ok. I’ve done some R&D. It appears I was wrong….but also correct. The pie I know as ‘Dutch apple pie’ is really something German immigrants to Pennsylvania developed. The German word for German was Deutch and that was hard for us silly Americans so we just said “Dutch”. Whereas Actual Dutch apple pie from the Netherlands is similar but not the same. Of course it predates American Apple pies by a few hundred years. Really the US is such a young country made up of immigrants that there’s very little we can call strictly our own. But as immigrants settled here they adapted their ways and recipes for the new world. So we have Tex-mex food which any Mexican will tell you isn’t real Mexican food and we have Italian/American cuisine which is huge and wonderful but not as recognizable to any actual citizens of Italy. My mom always made ‘Dutch apple pie’ whereas no one else I knew ever did. I had asked about it and was told it was from Pennsylvania Dutch.

@@mistylee717 correct, Deutsch is German and Dutch is from the Netherlands. I don't know where the word 'dutch' actually comes from. Imo it makes it confusing. As a non native English speaker and I think even for native English speakers. It is what it is though.

If you do not like FEBO arguably the most quality fast food ever...you should quit your existance it is that good. Croquetes, cheese Soufle and Grillburger freshly made according to Febo recipe...it doesn't get any better

Sorry but you make many mistakes. Febo is goed but has not very goed frijs. Too, the Jordaan area is not a historically goed area, but was shortly before now a slummy area, but hes been made popular in recent decades and become trending to life.
