We've been reading your comments and thought we'd answer some of the more common ones here:
Q: What happened to all that glass and paint?
A: With Dustless Blasting, the spent media and paint don't go very far. Water encapsulates the particles being removed, and they drop to the ground. When you blast over a hard surface, like this one, you can scoop or sweep up the spent media. Others choose to blast over a plastic tarp, which catches the media and can be rolled up and thrown away.
Q: Doesn't water cause the metal to rust?
A: By using a specially formulated Rust Inhibitor, you can prevent flash rust for up to 72 hours. Add the inhibitor to the blast water to prevent flash rust during blasting, and then use it as a rinse after blasting is complete. This will give you or the customer plenty of time to prime the vehicle.
Q: I once tried Sandblasting a car and the dust was awful. How is Dustless Blasting better?
A: The water in the process suppresses the dust plume and allows you to use far less media than traditional dry blasting. If you've ever sandblasted before, you'll know how dirty everything can get, Dustless Blasting helps solve this problem.
Q: Is it expensive to buy Dustless Blasting equipment?
A: Our turn-key mobile equipment is no more than the price of a nice pickup truck. And unlike a pickup truck, the Dustless Blasting system gives you the ability to earn, on average, $300/hour. And because it's not a franchise, you'll never have to pay ongoing fees or royalties - you truly own your business.
Imagine how much money you could make with this level of productivity. It's no surprise that new Dustless Blaster owners are calling it "magic". The Dustless Blaster is faster, easier, and cleaner than any other blaster on the market. We've been designing and manufacturing top quality blasters since 1941, and continuous improvement has brought us to Dustless Blasting. The most incredible advancement in blasting technology in over 60 years. Find out why the Dustless Blaster is the best abrasive blaster.

I have to ask, as a small business owner, what kind of liabilities there might be? If the media is recycled bottle glass, and paint is being removed, how is that all cleaned up at the end of the job? Can a child with bare feet run across that driveway? I'm not too familiar with that type of blasting media, but I know what having fiberglass insulation come into contact with skin feels like. Are the micro-chips of paint left to wash down the nearest storm drain? Again, I'm not trying to be critical, but if you stop to think that a bunch of contractors building a home are required to erect those fabric dust barriers - for digging dirt, what must the requirements for blasting paint with glass media be? I would imagine that at least a portable shelter with a capacity for containment would be required by most municipalities. I have 2 old cars, and this system looks awesome, compared to the time it takes to do only a small bit of sanding. I think that as a homeowner, if someone didn't mind having the residue melt in with their backyard, they might get away with it, behind a privacy fence. But I would really be careful offering this as a customer based service, without the capacity for containment and disposal.
For those that have never stripped a car before in there own driveway this was a symphony for the eye, I could of sat here for the whole hour and watched those coatings wash away. I certainly want this machine.
Brings back memories, I sandblasted a horse trailer year ago and it basically disintegrated into just a frame. Great system, keeps the thin metal cool too I bet to avoid warping.
The customer should of pulled the dang bumpers and grill /tail panel off..
Whenever they say call for price, you know their out to lunch on their price
So glaas, paint and bondo leave no mess behind?
wow, this is amazing, i could easily have a new paintjob every year without much pain in the ass!
Ha that’s crazy I just realized y’all are in Hammond when I googled this. I’m a painter over at Bill Hood on North Morrison! This product looks incredible. Might be calling y’all someday.
It's only half done. What about inside trunk, engine compartment, and door frames?
Small sweeps is how its done, the compressor probably a screw type works like a surecharger. around 200 ks an hour at the tip of nozzzle.
Ready for primer? I would say that this impala needs some welding before primer...

restoration shops in high humid areas epoxy prime the entire car imediately after blasting to prevent future surface rust, then metal work, bodywork and polyester primer.

there are weldable primers that allow to be applied before all the welding and grinding cutting operations, they do not burn, they do not stink and they do not prevent the welding

Very nice innovative machine! Kudos to you!
That was simply amazing..! I'm curious if this system will work on aviation ? of course the surface is different from a regular car ( car is metal ) aviation ( combination of aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber)... Have you ever tested your system on aviation components ?... If you do I might have a idea what aviation company will be interested in this kind of tooling.
What about warping of the large flat panels? Do you guarantee not to do damage to the existing metal?
Very nice 👍 thanks for the post.
what a great machine!!! very impressed!!
Wow! Thanks you so much for the tips. It's really a big help. Good job!
In 1989 I dropped off my wife's car which was being repainted by the dealer under factory authorization for failure of the clearcoat and underlying paint. A little more than an hour after Ieft the dealer I had to go back to get the garage door opener from the sun visor. The two-man crew working on the car had it 80% to the bare metal where they were located in the corner of the body shop and after seeing this video I believe that they using a process similar to what's shown in this video. My wife, notorious for keeping her vehicles for a long time, admired the paint on her '88 Bonneville SE for the next ten years or so and the finish on that car was an outstanding feature since the dealer did an impeccable job on the repaint.
thats funny how you said it "small cost compared to our profit" lol
Definitely looks a whole lot easier then sand blasting and a whole lot cleaner.
Great technology! I would love to see how this works on wood.

Very interesting, here in So. Cal the A.Q.M.D. would require you to capture everything you blasted away.
I have a 1,100hp compressor with a crock that holds 400 pounds of sand could I just use that setup for wet blasting I'm curious to how it works what do you guys add into it you said something about glass
That was awesome it was also fun to watch
What about the windows? Some of the spray has to be hitting it at some points here...
Kick butt setup for sure, but does the local demand make the investment worth while? I suppose this could be used on concrete or any rusty structure…so yeah, maybe I just answered my own question.
I'm here because I have OCD but this is so satisfying 😍😍
Not bad! I think this method of "dustless blasting" would be really good to strip back previously painted flaking and peeling "brick walls" to its bare substrate.

I just finished helping on a log house job. the medium glass media does a nice job and this rig works well I liked it a lot. only get about 250 hours out of the short coupler hose on the blast tank that I don't know the real name for, but the machine came with three spare ones so that must be normal.

That and stucco
yeh what about inside the door jams and under the bonnet looks ok though it dosnt seem to warp the pannels like most bead blasting
What about all the trim and glass? Is that all etched and pitted now?
This is satisfying to watch
Great job
I would love to have this done to my 1983 Chevy C10 pickup before I do the body work on it and of course then paint it
Excellent!
How much pressure is involved in regards to warpage of soft panels?
Any health hazards from breathing and handling the powdered glass? how do you collect and dispose of it.?
I have OCD this satisfies me so much
The video might say dustless but believe me it’s not! I had my 2015 F150 bed done using this method and I didn’t pay $1000.00. Look at the ground in the video that’s the mess that’s left. This method does a great job and I’m happy with the way my truck turned out but there definitely a mess afterwards!
yea does it work on the rust ?
I'm sold. 😁😲
And in only 54 minutes the owner realised that the car is complete trash

What's the 102 liquid you rinse the car off with after the blasting process and why rinse with water and that 102 liquid?
What does it do to the crome and glass on the car? Mess it up?
Hmmm,,, what about the silica in the recycled bottle glass?
What cfm rotary-vane compressor do you use on this? What does this media do to chrome? Glass?
Wow that's Awsome 👍
hello dustless I had a farrow system which yours is based on so how do you get on with the noise of the process and the damage to the glass. what psi are your compressor's as they look like 10bar or 150psi and in the UK we have 7bar or 100 psi.
Awesome product.
Man you have a number i like what i see im restoring my old scoo
tell please what water pressure and inner diameter of high pressure hose
That annoys me when businesses are booked for months out. Buy more equipment and hire more people. You're inviting competition to move in. Having months of work does not mean you are successful it means you cant handle demand and you aren't satisfying clients. Who wants to wait six months to get their job done?

How much does it cost?
What air is needed to make it go? how much does a suitable compressor cost? how much does it consume? How much does a treatment plant and disposal cost for water contaminated by paint removed ? throw it in the toilet a bucket after another or in the rainwater drain?
Any issues with various city ordinances?
Do you have this service in NY

Is it completely bare metal with decals stuck on? that'd be perfect.
nice, since warping is usually caused by heat, I would guess there would be no warping here, since the water would keep it cooler.
Hope there was rust inhibitor added in so when u was done blasting it dont rust
fantastic
How much for one of these dustless blaster?
Good jobs
I'm not a car guy nor even a manual labor kind of guy. But I still kinda want to do this. Looks fun!
