  • @robertt9342

    @robertt9342

    3 жыл бұрын

    It's a pretty much the same problem any of the older wrestlers have with it. The thing with wrestling is that you have instant feedback if something is landing with the audience or not, so an over reliance on a script doesn't allow you to make adjustments on the fly to abandon a direction that isn't hitting its mark or to double down on something that is.

    Wrestling today has lost all the venom and the wrestlers just don't have the passion and acting skills to sell what they are doing. Everything is so fake and so scripted its unwatchable. Not to mention how soft it had become and pg. Always afraid to ruffle feathers or say something that will offend someone. The only chance they have is to go old-school and get that grit back that they had in the golden days.

    I agree with Dustin about how wrestlers should improv their scripts, if it doesn’t fit their character. I feel like that’s a quality every wrestler should have to pull the fans into the promos. However, I’m sure that they would get penalized for doing that now because wwe isn’t that lenient of giving the wrestlers the freedom to say what they really want to make the fans go wild over anymore. One of the problems that I have with wwe now is that the storylines aren’t as exciting anymore and the promos aren’t that entertaining to watch. I hate the P.G. Era. I will say that the wrestling moves have gotten WAY cooler now than it ever was before.

    I think most of us are silently conflicted about Dustin. We all love how wacky and over-the-top his character was and how he made it work. But we were all also re-introduced to just how good he is as a serious competitor. It'll always be something Dustin Rhodes will own that he's made a career out of doing an entertainingly embarassing character and we can't help but love that part of him. But what we're more conflicted about is really the fact that he was never positioned as a main-eventer, when it's clear that he definitely could have been had he not been typecast for the entirety of his middle career.

    @@herecomesdatrain (I forgot my password so I'm replying on this account). No, you don't get my point. It WAS used for RAW during the VERY beginning of the Attitude Era. '97, IIRC. Look it up.

    I love Dustin Rhodes... would be so much fun to throw on the Black Album, drink a couple beers/smoke some ciggies and just shoot the s**t with him.

    dustin really seems like a cool guy.. hes much easier to listen to tell stories than cody.. His stories have a begining middle and end.. Codys seem like hes desperately trying to avoid offending anyone... and just avoids really answering the question
