'this doesn't sound like their old stuff' - someone talking about a band whose last album was released 19 years ago

Their other new songs actually sound like Duster though... this one is a clear outlier.

i like many songs of duster and absolutely love Stratosphere. but for me there never was such a logic " A: i like space-rock, B: Duster is a space-rock band (i doubt it tbh), A+B: I like Duster " I liked their own sound, their manner, fashion. But this song (which you claim to be a space-rock song) is fucking lame. It sound like it's tending to begin, but it will not begin. A song with an intro and without a body. Modern music sucks in general (indeed there are exceptions), and even the greats of 90s rarely do something that resembles their early or their best works. Probably, once reached the climax, only slow decline will happen. Every person that likes this actually likes a song of every other band except duster. I'm sad of it. p.s. nothing personal fam but your comment made me think and that's the reason i left mine below yours. good luck to you.

@@user-hn2kc1wu1r yeah stratosphere is an amazing album and i love it and no this doesnt compare to the peak of the band but take away all the expectation of 20 years without new music and its a good atmospheric hypnotic space rock song, i love space rock especially stuff like hawkwind, oresund space collective, oulu space jam collective, and other bands but i think the main problem is no one really listens to just 1 space rock song usually its best enjoyed in the context of a full album where it can really take you on a journey and be put in a trance or hypnotic state, you really cant get that in 3 minutes, hopefully if this leads to a full album of stuff like this itll shine a lot more

definition of space rock: Space rock is a genre derived from Psychedelic Rock. Space rock bands make heavy use of synthesizers and guitar effects to create dense atmospheric soundscapes intended to evoke images of outer space and science fiction scenarios. The songs are highly repetitive and usually involve Jam Band-style improvisation, especially when performed live. so yeah i think this fits the definition more or less
