Your videos are always "meat and potatoes". I enjoy the facts and the function. Good job. Thanks for taking the time to actually inform us heathens and near do gooders! : )

Good review squid. You speak directly to someone that is looking at this pack as an option. I like what one commenter said, you speak to the “meat & potatoes” of the pack. If I were searching for another pack option, your video would have been extremely helpful. Keep’em coming !

Great video! I am really impressed with my Kakwa 55. It performed flawlessly on my LASH on AT last year.

I’m really liking the Kakwa 40. It’s a solid pack and nearly perfect for me. 🦑

I usually steer clear of recommending but this pack is really working well for me. 🦑

Squid. Leaving the Arc Haul years ago the arc feature is something that I miss terribly. The straps at the bottom of every pack I own is a must for me. Happy Hiking

Micah 6:8 showed me a way to make my own straps and I think I’m going to do it. On the 2 trips where I’ve used this pack, I’ve missed the arc feature but I love the fit, ride and comfort of the Kakwa. Everything is a trade off. 🦑

Excellent review, Squid. I had the advantage of seeing the pack in person on our Firey Gizzard Trip and I was very impressed. I'd have a tough time with the smaller rear stretchy pocket. I cram mine way too full. 😂

Yeah, I’m used to putting a lot of crap in mine and this one forces you to be more strategic about what you put in there. 🦑

Get the skinny 1L smart water bottles. They fit in those pockets.

Agreed! They fit but they stick out too far. 🦑

Looks solid. That's light for a framed pack that can carry 45lbs. Thanks!

Nice review Keith. Does that pack have weep holes in the side pockets?

I’m glad you asked. I went to look expecting to see small holes but it doesn’t have them. 🤔 🦑

@@GoneFeralWithSquidly well let's just hope those side pockets don't fill up with rain water. My new ArcHaul doesn't have them either.

Only things keeping me from getting one is that small front pocket and non removable hip pockets.
@GoneFeralWithSquidly

For me, the non removable hip belt pockets are not an issue even though I would like them to be a little larger. The small front pocket though is a little disappointing. 🦑

The front pockets aren't meant for water bottles

That may be true but if not, what are they for and if not, I’ve discovered that attaching bottle sleeves to the daisy chain is nearly impossible.

The point of the light weight pack is not to carry so much crap. Ditch the chair.
@GoneFeralWithSquidly

That was exactly the point of downsizing to the Kakwa 40 but I still like my chair on some trips. 🦑
