is there a fuse on the white wire coming from the starter?. I opened my up and it doesn't have a fuse in the holder in the white wire. thanks for the video

First off, Congratulations to You and Jesse. The backfire prevention has nothing to do with California Emissions. It's to help prevent the carburetor from flooding over by giving you a mechanical way of shutting off the gas. If anything California emissions would be a restricted in the muffler or reduce how much gas the Engine is using.

Do some digging. They got added as a environmental thing thanks to California. The remarketing was done by small engine companies to sell you on it. Its an environmental thing on any engine bigger then 500cc. Thus the reason a 14hp kohler does not have one but a 19 does. Same with a briggs 13.5 but yet the 17 does. It was done to prevent junk yard leaching of gas or at least that was the political side.

Yes,they did that so you don't have a bowl full of fuel slowly evaporating and inciting riots with the tree huggers and Mommy squads that are taking over self-control.Some people apparently have no idea how to use a fuel shut-off valve inline from the tank.Those poor simpletons....@@redneckcomputergeek
