Just a guy from Kansas here, but I was able to follow the recipe without understanding much of the Hindi. My kichiri turned out pretty good!

@@colinsoder split mung with or without skins (skins are green) are preferred lentil ... she says always add scalding hot water and add total water in few steps rather than in one go ... total water is 4 times total volume of rice+dal ... she dry roasts dal and then soaks it along with rice and but before adding first dose of water she says roast very well rice+dal ... she says all the points listed in this comment are important
