This song is timeless. Even after almost 40 years it sounds fresh, unique, and amazing. The lyrics are so clever and the flute piece to close is epic.

The first two days where the "live" parts where done and then the others where done in front a very select small crowd. I was lucky to get tickets to that they where handed out to very few..I was there All three nights

I listend to JD singing this and then listend to this version. This is how it should be done JD...take note. THis song is a classic but not of the 80s. Its frankly as good as the best Beatles or Stones stuff. This is a haunting and moving piece of music that DD are best at and really what makes them so much more than teeny boppers. Who at that time can produce a track in this calibre. One song i will hear till im an old man. Thanks for the music duran.

Duran Duran - The Chauffeur Out on the tar plains The glides are moving All looking for a New place to drive You sit beside me So newly charming Sweating dew drops glisten Freshing your side And the sun drips down Bedding heavy behind The front of your dress all Shadowy-lined And the droning engine Throbs in time With your beating heart Way down the lane away Living for another day The aphids swarm up in the Drifting haze Swim seagull in the sky Towards that hollow Western isle My envied lady holds you Fast in her gaze And the sun drips down Bedding heavy behind The front of your dress all Shadowy-lined And the droning engine Throbs in time With your beating heart And the sun drips down Bedding heavy behind The front of your dress all Shadowy-lined And the droning engine Throbs in time With your beating heart Sing Blue Silver And watching lovers part I feel you smiling What glass splinters lie So deep in your mind To tear out from your eyes With a thought to stiffen Brooding lies And I'll only watch you leave Me further behind And the sun drips down Bedding heavy behind The front of your dress all Shadowy-lined And the droning engine Throbs in time With your beating heart And the sun drips down Bedding heavy behind The front of your dress all Shadowy-lined And the droning engine Throbs in time With your beating heart Sing Blue Silver Sing Sing Blue Silver (Known as Albert Schweitzer) There's more to this kind of camouflage More than just colour and shape Who's crawling now, in the tall grass near my tent?
