I have a shed of the exact same dimensions, but mine is wood. I decided to make it into my personal space, and now it’s like my little man cave. It’s cool it all lit up inside and my laptop and little mini office is up in it. Superb. More furnishings to come.

I just installed the same shed , the installation pictures of the sideyard placement are identical to my install :)! Would agree with everything he's covered pretty happy overall w it for what I expected. I installed the included vents and I did get the shelf kit accessory and I'm still searching for a window kit (out of stock). Finally, I installed a couple of battery operated, motion / daylight sensing lights from Amazon.

I like the size of the shed. 8’ x 4’ isn’t that big, but for my personal office maybe it’s fine. I work remote and have this idea of making it into my personal office space. Don’t know if I’ll go for wood or for plastic. Metal I don’t want. Does it get really hot in the shed in the summer? I think wood sheds also gets very hot inside not sure.

Yeah I think it gets pretty warm in there since there's no insulation. I haven't personally sat around in the shed while the sun is beating on it or at all. But just going in there to get things, it's not like it's cool like inside a house.
Just bought one at Home Depot for $470 (they price matched Lowes even though Lowes is out of stock). Darrell, did you take a video of putting it together? It'd be great to have that with tips & tricks :)
@nukem384

Sorry, I didn't do a tutorial video because it would've taken me about 10x longer than the build already took. The build is pretty straight forward though. And the directions are pretty clear. Just make sure that you find the right labeled parts when you're putting pieces together. Definitely have a power drill, as it'll save you a ton of time since there are so many screws in this kit. If you get stuck or have any questions, come back and I'll see if I can answer them!
Awesome video with good explanation. What type wood would you recommend to build the foundation. I just got this shed and wondering should I raise it above few inches to prevent water going in on heavy rainy days.
@nukem384
3 жыл бұрын
This shed comes with a foundation, so you don't need to buy any wood. Inside the box, there's a long slim box that should say foundation kit on it. Use that and you're good. It's made of metal, so you don't have to worry about it rust or rotting (like wood).
update 2023, shed is $1k price went up and doubled within 1 year. Wow.

Would you recommend that the flooring is placed before I put the walls, so that I don't have to worry about fitting it through the door later?
@nukem384
Жыл бұрын
I put the plywood in as the absolute last step after the whole shed was installed, so no. You just have to turn it to get it in and then drop it in. If you've measured your cut right, it's super easy.
Great video/review. I need to install mine in limited space, fitting into a L shape where 2 sides are up against my house. I wanted to confirm the comment that you can build everything from the inside? I saw another video that showed you would have to screw those column supports in between the panels from the outside. Looks like you didn't have that much room for the back panels up against your house to be able to screw the supports from the outside.
@nukem384
2 жыл бұрын
It is like 95% from the inside. There were like 1 or 2 times I had to hop my fence (opposite side of the shed) to do a thing or two. So length side, 100% from the inside, shorter side (door and back) were the 1 or 2 times I needed to screw a screw or hammer something in.
So glad I saw this but it's not sold anywhere near me 😩 been looking for an affordable shed so I don't have to build one from scratch and this look really nice. I however want the door facing the long way

Hi. I just built mine today.. Got a question about the door.. On the side where the hinges go. there is a gap that I installed a weather strip that came with the shed. but there is still a small gap.. has rain ever came into your shed from the hinge side?
@nukem384
29 күн бұрын
As you can see from the date, it's been a while since I built mine. But the weather strip goes onto the shed side, not the actual moving door. That's where I put mine anyway and it seemed to work. I haven't had any leak issues as long as you silicone around the roof fittings that snap in.

Good god you are right. As mentioned, it was hard to find even a year ago. So it looks like they are trying to capitalize on the demand, which is sorta shady, but also a business move. Not cool if you're the customer.
Can you connect two of theses together to make a 4x16?

Highly doubt it. If you're handy, you could probably mod one of them to make it work.
Just curious, has anyone tried painting the finished shed. Just assembled mine and want to paint it a dark color. Am only hesitating as the vinyl sides are thin and concerned they might warp.

Mine is still fine. No warping. Not sure the paint would stick though? Unless you get specific vinyl paint if that exists?

I got another comment about this recently. Really sad Duramax has decided to double the price of the shed. Must be supply and demand because even last year it was hard to get. Business decision obviously, but maybe supply chain issues are playing a part in it. Either way, sucks for us consumers :(

This is 4 feet wide? Actually, it’s a lot of space. I was thinking the width was going to be tiny, but maybe my judgment of 4 feet wide is different than what it actually is. That, and I don’t have a ruler at home to measure it. I was going to get a larger one, a more expensive one at 6‘ x 8’. But bow I think I’ll do 4’ x 8’. I will save easily 500 bucks. I’m looking to get a wood one because of durability.
