These buses were originally owned by New World First Bus (NWFB) with a white and orange paintjob. They used to run service between Central and The Peak in Hong Kong Island. You may notice the height of the bus is slightly shorter than normal double deckers, that's to compensate the roads near The Peak. Just before retirement, some of them were transferred to Citybus and is painted with a yellow livery (Just like 893) and run service between Hong Kong Island and New Territories. Would love to see her get repainted with the original NWFB livery. Well done sir 👍 Long live the Trident ❤

Fun fact: Actually the body was produce by Transbus. This is because when these low height Trident was put in order, Duple Metsec already closed and been bought by Transbus, but Alexander (which also bought by Transbus) do not have a low height body design for HK market, so they just took out the drawing of these DM5000 body and build it in Alexander factory. Glad to see a special build old Trident bus from HK get preverse in Australia.

Tridents used to be one of the most common bus types in the UK (specifically the Trident 2) and I've always wanted to ride one of the HK ones but I never could before they were withdrawn, I'm glad ones been saved from becoming razor blades and bean cans!

These tridents (not specifically 10.3 metres) used to be the workhorse for hong kong All bus companies from hong kong began retiring them since 2012. 893 is one of the last Tridents for citybus and nwfb group. Despite not being the last trident, they've been the heart and soul for route 88R for citybus and route 15 for NWFB. After retirement, normal people may think they're worth nothing but they sit somewhere in our hearts. Glad it has found a new life outside hong kong.

Once again, another very intervesting video of yours! This is one of my favourite buses in Dunedin at the moment, and I particularly like the sound of that Cummins engine. The bright coloured livery definitley makes this model stand out compared to most of Dunedin's fleet, which generally have more standard colours. Will this bus be used for transporting cruise ship passengers from Port Chalmers, because it has a decent amount of seats and looks very presentable for the tourists?

Hi im curious how is like to be preserving a retired bus . Like things that come to my mind are storage issues and overall maintenance of the bus itself. For storage wise is the bus yard like a shared communal parking space between other bus owners and is it safe to be parked without any security issues. For spare parts are they difficult to find in NZ ? After all they are more than 20 years old . How was the exporting process like for the bus ? Hope ya can reply :)

Actually you forgot to mention this Trident is a 10.3M low bridge with 4.19M tall, specially designed for Route 15 to the Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, equipped with the 11 liter ISM335 engine makes this the most powerful double decker ever made After 2008 Tridents changed the engine to the 8.9L ISL340 and it's nowhere near the power of ISM The driver's cockpit is already tight with the DM body and this low bridge version makes it even worse with little headroom
