Why was he using a core bar?? On the older model

I am 80KG riding a north 26 liter surfboard. I own a 8 CARVE I can use from 17+. I owned a 10 CARVE but ripped it in half. Should I get a 9NEO or 10NEO? On one hand, everyone says size down on the NEO, which leads me to 10 CARVE to 9 NEO. Also, the old: “I don’t even surf with kites bigger than 9s”. But is the overlap between a 9 NEO and 8 CARVE too great? Will it be too much repetition in my quiver? 7s are not an option as in Puerto Rico it never gets that windy. I hear a lot about the low end grunt on a neo. Does anyone know the low end/high end differences between a neo and carve? What is the low of a NEO 9 vs a NEO 10 on a surfboard? Thanks so much 🙏🏻

Hi Carlos, we didn't exactly measure it but first sight no real differences

North/duotone kites feels different with Core bar... I used both bars with the same kite and with original bar by nkb kite works better, more direct feel, more power, a little bit better turning

@@Kitefinder Important think is a V position, click bar offers few options of high V point.

Ha ha ha, I liked the face plant fin box test ... yes it happens to some of us more than we would like. The 2019 Neo looks like it performs well ... but ... I ride with and old Cabrinha Drifter and have punished in waves ... it just keeps relaunching for more punishment ... what sort durability comparison of the Neo and the Drifter would be your call?

Hi Dave, good question. Try the local kite repair, they have the best answer to your question. They know all the weaknesses of every brand

Did duotone buy the rights from north? I’ve been out of the loop for a bit.

Were the kites the same size? I heard you say 6 and 7m? If they were the same size, it looks like the aspect ratio changed?

The old North 2018 kite was a 6m the Duotone is a 7m kite

next time you test a kite please do it using its own bar....

@@mgpBLARGtotaly disagree...the same kite does not fly the same way if you use different (4 line) bar. It is ment to be used with its own bar. For instance my North Juice does not fly the same when I use my Duotone bar because both bars have different V's(low V vs High V)...With that said(same company same brand) I can not imagine that a kite flys the same way when you use a bar from other brand...
