Glad someone’s finally playing 64 DS. This was the only version of 64 I ever played. And honestly, the controls aren’t as bad as they’re made out to be, I got all 150 stars without any problems as a kid.

I’m so glad someone else feels this way!! I was really hoping that the 3D Allstars collection would feature the graphics style from this rather than the original

I actually think the controls are good. Not amazing, but good. There is one important thing that is almost never talked about when discussing the controls of this game, and that thing is DS models. Really. DS like d-pad is much worse for 3d movement than the d-pad in the original DS model. (I actually think the it feels at least ok to control with the lite d-pad too) In the original model, the d-pad almost feels like a "sliding-pad", similar to 3ds, except more precise. It's hard to explain if you have never touched it.

This game has fun multiplayer mini games I believe if I’m thinking of the right super Mario game

Dunkey volume is always so low

This is the version they should have ported to the switch. It was superior to the original sm64 in every way.
