Isn’t building a house next to these dunes just like buying a trailer home in Kansas? Much slower but eventually the same result? My family used to go up there decades ago and even we were aware of the shifting dunes - in fact, I remember seeing the peak of a home sticking outta that sand. Very, very cool place though. Especially back in the seventies.

We own a cottage about 4 cottages down from this one and I am very greatful for the people moving the sand. Another way the sand is moving is the renters who rent these cottages along with people who walk on this dune even if it is private property they cause the sand to move down and closer to the cottages every time they walk on it.

I don't understand.......aren't the sand dunes a piece of nature??? They need to move their home and stop fighting mother nature. We are all so selfish. Want a house by the sand dunes but don't want our house to be ruined by the sand......let's move the sand and not our house. Same with people building homes right on the ocean. Oh I'm sure it's beautiful but you can't stop land slides. The earth just does what it does.

There are already "several" homes under that huge sand dune, he can fight it all he wants, it will happen eventually....
