This scene was flames in the theater 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hans Zimmer absolutely blasting this scene into you with his magic
I love this scene for what it doesn’t show. You’re given a colossal dust cloud, and left to wonder at the rest. Well done, visual team!
The quality is down right Insane
Saw it today and I'm completely blown away! This is my favourite scene, it was majestic! The scenery, the soundtrack everything!❤❤❤
Honestly this scene left us simply stunned in IMAX when he finally stood up and the music exploded in the cinema
Didn't see it in IMAX, but honestly, if you have a good sound bar and speakers, with a decently large TV, you're all set. All in all, this film is incredible.
IMAX IS the only way to fully appreciate this film. Was there for the premiere. Midnight performance. Had my memory refreshed of the first one beforehand. Unforgetable. Been back to see it again twice so far. Whho said this was impossible to make? All credit to cast, director, and crew.
The seats were literally shaking in the cinema when I saw this, it was so epic. But I soon found myself wondering..."How in the fuck is he going to get off that thing?"
2:32 USUL!...has called a BIG ONE!!!...AGAIN!...it is the LEGEND!!!
This has to be seen on the imax, its truly insane how hard this scene hits
I find it really interesting how the Chakobsa (Fremen) term for "this is the final test" is just one word, one syllable.
Thanks Hans Zimmer
I am PRETTY sure one of the audio samples used for the worm's swim is a rocket liftoff. Watch Artemis I's liftoff and the kinda flapping rumbling of its approach is quite similar.

100% - and barely disguised
I love that they don't explain it, but you can tell that pulling open those breathing flaps prevents the worm from going underground because it would breathe in sand if it did.

Oh, I always thought they just hold on for dear life if the Sandworm went down
I hope they get this back in the theaters someday, it was a one of a kind experience… this scene was just breathtaking
I loved how loud this scene was on Imax...felt like you were there.

Goosebumps and tears, so moved by this cinematography this is art
By far the BEST IMAX experience!
The special effects teams better get a few Oscars for their efforts
Saw the film yesterday, love the book, hated the first one from two years ago (wooden acting, clunky editing) but have to say I was in a state of ecstasy for every second of part two. My head is still spinning and I’m going to see it again this week. What a masterpiece, easily one of the greatest science fiction films I’ve ever seen.
When did he stop to put his goggles on!?😂

Bro watching the imax version literally felt like the sandworm was under me
An absolutely _masterfully_ made scene, and superlative demonstration of showing rather than telling.
Dolby has a podcast (also available on youtube). Greg Frasier (cinematographer for Dune) joined the podcast for a great interview. He said the shot where Paul stands up is his favorite. Worth a watch for sure.
I thought I would never feel the way I did about a movie seeing it in IMAX like I did Interstellar…..This movie completely changed my mind! Missed the first one in theaters but I knew with Hans on the sound track, I HAD to see it in IMAX and man, I’m going at least 2-3 more times, this movie is the best thing I have ever seen, if you get a chance, experience it in IMAX before it’s too late!
Really, really good movies. I did feel the editing was slightly off - particularly on the scenes where Paul had to do the desert night crossing. Hopefully an extended version coming?
This scene was something else in IMAX. The whole screen and the seats were shaking.
Saw it twice on IMAX...OMG!!!OMG!!! INSANE!!! I was almost sick....Never have I had an almost out of body experience like Dune2 !!!OUTSTANDING!!!!
when i heard and saw this scene my goosebumps reached another level
3:42 I'll never forget this epic image in my life
Great peace of art, but when Paul, who wasn't wearing glasses while the worm was approaching, jumps onto the worm, his glasses magically appear on his face! This is just a detail, but the scenarist shouldn't forget about such things; details matter.
This scene was spectacular in the theater!
Kinda like it when they pan on Stilgar to show the look of his face before the worm eat the bait..the look of shock and awe ..and in a way as he is speaking to himself ...is he(Usul) going to ride this huge worm ..
I can’t describe the feelings I felt when I saw this scene on the big screen this is what I imagined when I was reading the books as a teen
This sequence is the reason why IMAX is how you experience cinema on another level. Truly phenomenal.

One of the best for sure. TLotR and the Matrix were pretty good too. As were othere. That said, the OST is a masterpiece for sure.
Are you kidding me with the auto motion after effects on this? Why can’t you post the scene the way it was shot?
this scene was the hardest scene imo. It brings joy every time i watch it😊

5:16 You know the music starts here.
Never got chills like the ones I got when the score started playing. Fucking exceptional 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 5:21
Loved this in theatres goddammit. I need a big screen at home when I buy the bluray :p Just imagine seeing someone actually pulling this off.
Loved every second but for real I was thinking “how do you get off a worm?” How do they get the tent for mother onto it as well?
no one can say its bad that moment when they charge 5 or more sandworms against the empire army
- 4K60 is frigging amazing . 😳
Blending the frames to make it 60fps gives it weird effects - like when he’s running in the wide shot.
Mind blowing scene in the theatre ❤❤
Do they lose a thumper each time they ride a sandworm?
Dude this movie did better than most other movies in this year and that says a lot.
I’ve been a fan of DUNE since 1998 when I first read it. And I don’t cry at the movies but for some reason, I got the chills, that acidity in my throat, and teary eyes. I’m like “Why am I feeling like this?!” And I realized it was because my childhood visions came true in full effect. During this scene I almost felt like Arrakis was a real place. What a beautiful movie!
2:22 the molduga theme from botw and totk starts playing
This movie was incredible!
Can someone please put up this exact same clip but with Dick Dale's "Misirlou" starting right at 4:17?
this has the same vibe as when you see test videos in the tv section of walmart..................
Why don't we do 60fps for all film?! I think people equate 24fps = cinematic. But I think they are wrong! This is awesome!
I think the 60fps makes it even better
best film ever! BRUTAL!!!
Why the upscale to 4K 60 fps tho? Feels weird and more like a videogame cutscene now...
all the comments mentioning IMAX as if that’s the only option lmao, for those without that much disposable income - don’t worry! go see it an a normal dolby theatre, the entire floor and seats shake, the bass rumbles through your body and the size of the screen swallows you up. you feel like you’re right there being attacked by the worms.
I wonder if AI enhancing will become the norm in post production in the future
This scene was awesome but, throwing those hooks would never work, the speed and wind push back would send them flying back It’s like trying to spit while your moving forward on a motorcycle it would just hit you

ikr its a amazing looking scene but its far too unrealistic and immersion breaking as just the speed would have ripped him off or he would have clung onto it and it would have immediately went underground lost in the sand.
This is my favorite scene ever, watched it in IMAX and got me chills! Best movie so far
Why using a 60fps framerate when the film had a standard 24fps ?
This film should had came out last year it would had gotten Oscar nominations.
Why does the camera look so shaky when they're just talking? I thought AI would have steady hands 😩
@YourLoyalDeserter

that's how it was shot. The AI just made it 60fps and higher def
Why is the framerate different?
I wish I got to see this in IMAX

Because it's fake frames
This scene was İNCREDİBLE! But the things that trip me up as I watched is he didnt put hookers wristbands on his wrists.Your ENTİRE LİFE depends on your hooks what if they slipped or lost!? And when did he even put his sand googles on when he was jumping at the sand? I wish they were careful about these details
I just saw it in Imax and I'm at a loss for words. Wow. I've only felt this way with a movie before. Lord of the Rings ❤
