The question is not How they built that. It's : WHY did they build this ugly eyesore. Sure, a dog shits on the pavement and feels great relief. But the rest of us walking past have to endure it.

That futuristic glass junk looks horrible above that beautiful old building. Who approved that garbage build?

Antwerp: once again, this generation of architects missed a chance for some badly needed greenery in the courtyard and in the huge, barren, outdoor plaza. Not clear why? Is it a fear that trees, shrubs, or a bench might distract from or clutter their work? Whatever reason, it's turning our urban landscapes into deserts. There's always a way to work greenery into new building, traditional or modern, sculptural styles. Taxpayers must learn to insist on it; and, it must be planned in at an early stage.

I haven’t watched the video yet, but whatever engineering challenges they overcame, whatever innovations they came up with, from outside from an esthetic point of view, this whole combo thing is childish and hideous 🤷‍♂️

It is supposed to be hideous on purpose, it is the antiphrasis of creativity and imagination, it is an attack on tradition just like every other part of our society in the west. It is just like brutalism. there is nothing beautiful about it, anyone who thinks that is beautiful is degenerate. It is beyond hideous, it is antiwesternism, anti-white just like everything else.

Dundee ... A terrible place to live. Like most of UK. Deep poverty at every turn. Not sure how this weird building helped.

Subjectively, of course, to me 2 of these 3 are horrible and insulting to the local population; I thought brutalism was banished to government buildings, and damns.

A building like Zaha Hadid’s renovation in Antwerp is always going to be controversial. Much like the Shard or the Easter Egg in London once you see that PA building in Belgium it cannot be forgotten. I completely understand why people hate it, most people’s first impression is wtf is THAT!? When I first saw it I didn’t think it was finished! ……but when I realized that Antwerp was known as the City of Diamonds I began to see that structure in a completely different light. Speaking of, the contrast of the opaque and transparent glass is the best part of that design

If you knew how important shipbuilding was in Dundee, I wonder if you’d view that (brutal) Scottish masterpiece in a different light? Wotta building! Wotta design! Absolutely stunning imo. The skyscraper is Barry White…………………Shite
