I've been thinking about buying a Dunable R2 DE for a few years. I'm glad to see that they're so well made.

This is the first Dunable that I’ve ever seen in person. I am glad that it made a good first impression. I think smaller makers, in general, probably care more about QC than the big boys. That’s just my theory.

I'm thinking about getting one of these but I would love to get a better sense of the feel of the neck. Any thoughts about it in comparison to a jazz neck?

To be honest, I have not played the bass, so I wouldn't be able to answer.

Dan here, it’s thicker than a jazz bass, closer and even a bit thinner than a modern P bass.

Yup, still here after twenty-six minutes because I'm a fellow guitar nerd and love this stuff. Btw the Dr. didn't do a bad job at all filing his fret slots and I'm betting at this point you were able to work with the nut as it was. We'll see in a few minutes... (Edit: So no surprise, it sounds great and you never mentioned the nut again so I assume it was good enough to save. And this bass looks great too, that curve of the pickguard/control plate is pretty sexy. But I don't think I could reach the end of that neck to tune it- ha! The maker of this bass, World Music Inc., is also the manufacturer of ESP/Ltd, Schecter and some other brands. Generally very high and consistent quality in every price range.)

Actually, as it turns out, we were running out of time, and we did not fix the nut, this time. Hopefully he will bring it back, so that we can do the improvements and make another video. It is all up to Dr. Dan. Oh, but we did change the neck pick up, off camera. Not much of a project to document on video. he decided to put a DiMarzio pick up there.

I was a Musicman player because the instruments were light and so well balanced but lacked that mid bass growl. So I switched to a Fender P bass which was perfect but a bit heavy. I got a gig in a touring rock band replacing another player but he used a 5 string. I couldn't get my 4 string p bass to cut it and I refused to play a 5 string so being the band had a Schecter endorsement they made me a 4 string that could tune way down. From what I can tell all they did was file the nut for much larger ga. strings and tighten the truss rod.
