Thank you so much for your protective attitude about books. Books are so important. To see your confusion and outrage when people toss away all that knowledge - well, it tells us who you are, Mike. A damn fine human being.
Mike the Scavenger, one of the only channels that I even watch the long ads all the way through for.
If there were scrap Olympics, you would win😀
Mike is the most entertaining scrapper. I love how he always has a positive attitude. He works hard and has fun while doing it. I just wish I had a truck so I could go find me some good scrappity scrap.
My heart was overjoyed when you rescued those books.. knowledge is priceless, powerful, and life altering--books allow us all to learn, explore, grow, and expand our lives..thanks Mike!!!

Hearing him talking about books, he jumped upe 100 notch in my estim.....!!!!!
I used to work for the railroad rebuilding locomotives, our shop was in an industrial area and I met a scrapper like you once, he and his wife scrapped exclusively, that is all they did. He did what you do and she got ALL the cardboard and pallets, They Left nothing in the dumpsters. Every time I saw them they were filthy because they scrapped the industrial waste from the complex I worked in. I met them out once I was eating at a restaurant and this man and just drop dead gorgeous woman came up and were like "Hey Jim!!" How are you/" It took me 20 seconds to place these two looking like movie stars in the old tee shirts and jeans I saw them in most days.

You and me both . Mike has got a wonderful personality and he knows how to entertain without being fake .
Upchurch is another good independent artist…he’s also got a bunch of videos of just being comical …he’s definitely got a lot of energy
Love the varied foreign accents, the Neanderthal grunts, and super glad you took the books 📚 😀
Some of those Andrew cables and connectors could well be useful to the Ham Radio guys, many use those "commercial" / "professional" patch leads and connectors.
my friend who is also a youtube scraper uses a trampoline canvas as a cover for his dump trailer to keep stuff from blowing out going down the highway ..its better than a plastic tarp because air blows through it..
Jelly roll, my go to when my head and heart are at war. No words can explain his realness. You just have to listen. One of the reasons I love watching your videos. You get the good, the bad, and the ugly. Along with some dumpster juice! Keep on keeping it real!
Thankyou , you make me laugh and cry daily with your humour and philosophy of life. I am not sure if you are aware that the glass round plate that one finds in the microwave is easy to sell as it is likely many users have a broken glass rotating plate and very needy of purchasing a replacement for ten dollars approximately .. Also your respect for the use and saving of old dumpster tools and found books of all varieties is so good to the heart. Your values are so wise and I hope more people will follow your pearls of wisdom concerning never to throw out books or used tools , etc. Recycling is awesome !!!!
It's great that you save books too! Knowledge is more valuable than much else in this world ... You are doing a great job!
I love that you rescue books, knowledge, history Mike. Savoring for the next generation, when shtf.
You just earned a viewer for life. Saving books and liking Jelly roll. Love both.
Dude, that was a $50 sheet of plywood you passed up.
I’m a book lover and I appreciate you liking them too! Yes! I have seen videos on those dumpsters being full of books and videos!
If my hubby was a scrapper I would be all up in his truck helping!!!! But my son and I love to “think” about dumpster diving but scared of going to jail lol 😂
Hi Mike from Cairns Queensland Australia. I admire your wanting to preserve old books. It's sacrilege throwing them out.
Thank you for rescuing those books! I totally agree with you on that subject. I hate to see books in trash.
"on borrowed time" great story turned movie. wonderfully done. its a turner classic.
Hey Mike just watched your video and did a quick search on Ebay and found a Racal recorder like the two you found and it was listed for $2,500.00 Australian dollars so you may be able to get some real cash for those two. Great video as always, keep up the good work and good luck with the recorders. Stay safe mate, your Australian friend, Rob.

Mike, those are real to real recorders, Dad would send us tapes while he was stationed in Vietnam, so we wouldn't forget what he sounded like, I'm quite sure they are collector's item now.

@@grannyandthebearscrappers1633 My Dad sent cassette tapes, two- one for the family and a separate one for Mom only. Decades later I was talking to my older brothers about them and they said "Didn't you hear the mortar fire and explosions?" , I said "No, I just heard Daddy's voice". Oh, to be that young and naive again.

There used to be a neat magazine called "Found" that printed pictures and stories of stuff like that- family heirlooms, photo albums, etc. that people found abandoned, in thrift stores, or in the trash. I don't think it's around any more, but it was a nice mag to look at.

When I see personal things being thrown out, I always wonder what the back story is. Also, a lot of bins that Mike finds look like they're small businesses that went bankrupt. Sad to see.
All kinds of stuff Mike. You always find interesting stuff. Always fun. Thanks mike.😊😊😊
My morning Mike fix. Lol
Would love the cook book holder.... I love baking and cooking.
Man that heliax cable is EXPENSIVE. I use lots of it for radio systems. Some of those connectors are $50-$100 each. Let alone the cable.i’d be interested in some of those cables.
I am always exhausted after watching your dumpster diving videos. 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish people would stop throwing books away. There is always somebody who would like to have them. Keep up the good work on books mike.

I do wonder how a Swedish book with old court cases ended up in a dumpster in Texas :)
Awesome haul always a blast scraping with you thankyou much my friend. GOD BLESS you and your family
Mike good to see you and another scrapping good time video. When using those 48" LED fluorescent bulbs replacement no ballast is needed and is wired differently. Save a few of them and make a video on wiring them up.
Insane find with those racal reel to reels. One is posted on ebay for 2K with the same stuff you have. You can definitely get some nice profit off of those

think the tapes would have been worth picking too honestly. maybe not his deal but those would sell in facebook, vintage audio groups or ebay
Jelly roll is the shit true heart behind those words
You are so Blessed Mike with scrap!!
Mike is the best at what he does !!!
I'm the same way Mike, I can't believe it when I find old books in the dumpster. I can't believe that people throw them away. I find books, all the time, as early as the 1910s in a dumpster behind a certain thrift store. I save what I can when I come across them
The books you find that you like, start your own library. My husband did. It's great.
Ham radio community will be interested in those cables.
I love watching your videos. Hilarious guys!😊

Mike, you are my husband and i’s favorite channel! Seriously, you make us laugh so hard at times. We are always so excited when you find great things! I do have one question…….what do your neighbors think when your out there late at night yelling alright, alright, alright?? Hahaha

MIKE Thankyou for the video

Those Racal tape recorders are magnetic tape recorders used in the early days of mainframe computers. The particular one with maintenance manual is worth a pretty penny as vintage industrial digital electronic machinery. It could fetch a nice price on the second hand market on Ebay or such. If you'd throw in a few of those magnetic tapes too, I'm fairly certain a digital computer buff will be glad to take it off your hands for a decent price. Either way, they deserve to be kept safe as authentic electronic equipment

I was thinking about all those document boxes that could have had any number of original user manuals for various early computer and mainframe equipment. I've had good luck with that stuff on eBay. Several months ago I found a mid-80s dot matrix printer that would have been worth a pretty penny if it could have been made functional again. It was too far gone unfortunately. However it had it's original owners manual in the box which sold very quickly.
I love old books 📚, the history is so amazing. Take the medical or anything newer to the college bookstore. They buy them and resell them. I always bought used books 📚.
The Cold Shrink Kit is basically a thick Rubber sleeve that has a stiff plastic liner that is keeping the Rubber sleeve artificially expanded to around twice it's diameter. Pull on the tabs at the end and the inner plastic unwraps itself from the inside (middle) shrinking the Rubber onto whatever it is placed around - normally placed onto one cable before a joint is made then placed across the joint before shrinking - you may have silicon grease or other product inside before enclosure. Good bit of kit, used to use these on Telecoms joints 30 years ago, so they've been around for years!

Yup I’m a cable splicer and used to use them all the time. We used to bring them home and use them on shovel and rake handles.
Mike the scavengers dumpster book reading asmr lol
Love jelly roll. 🥰
Sooooo soooo great!
Doing good Mike. Go get 'em.
Another Mighty Mike video. I love old books as well. I’m a readaholic. Lol. I guess that would be the only safe thing to be addicted to. I don’t know how you just bounce in and out of the dumpsters like you do. I would fall on my head first thing. Lol Stay safe and God Bless
Opa boa tarde, nossa estes aparelhos são vintag, para quem colecionar e uma grande fortuna. Parabéns para você.
Hi mike. Good job. Keep it going. Take care. 👍👍👍😎😎😎❤️❤️❤️
The reel to reel magnetic tape decks are commercial quality used for the best sound reproduction back in the days before digital and produce amazing results. Employed by Media and advertising companies for soundtracks on voiceovers cost a fortune then and much sought after now for playing archive tapes.
