DUMPING OF GARBAGE CREATES HAVOC
Dumping of Garbage in an inappropriate site is not a new thing for the public. Citizens of Chumu around Saturday bazaar area complained that the butchers of Chumu Saturday weekly market throw leftover meat into the nearby river. On interaction with the butcher they admitted that they do throw their leftover meat into the river. Chumoukedima Municipal Council reported that a dumping site has been allotted to dumb leftovers and a chowkidar, on payment of an amount of money, goes to clean up the site. However, reports are that the leftovers are still being dumped in the water bodies.
