Have a ventriloquist-off? Put her against Jeff Dunham, pull Charlie McCarthy out of whatever museum he's buried in and Edgar Bergen out whatever grave he's encased in to be the judges.

I like the way she does the act acknowledging that she is the one making the dummy talk. She's the one doing all the talking, singing (in a low voice), she's the one breathing etc and yet she stays in character.

"Oh, please", nothing. She is super-talented. The nonchalant manner that she effects makes it seem that she is not doing much. But there's plenty going on in her act. And she nails it, with amazing poise. Nina Conti is remarkably good.

Just recently I found out that her father is Tom Conti. Watched Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence back in the day, and in later years the third of Bale’s Batman movies (forgot the title). And she really is incredibly skilled

That acting with the puppet 🤣. She really makes me buy into the act so much that it feels real!!! Amazing

Her voice acting is incredible!

I love how she knows exactly what Monk is going to say but she still laughs because she thinks it's funny. So cute!

To me that's the best part - that Nina is genuinely tickled by things the Monkey says.

There are so many great ventriloquists performing these days like Darci Lynne, Jeff Dunham, and Terry Fator to name a few. But in my opinion there has never been a better one than Nina. Absolutely love her!

Brilliant, original, refined, distinguished. That is class.

Absolutely brilliant! I’ve watched it a bunch of times and I laugh every time and I’m more and more impressed each time. You almost forget that she’s doing it all…when the monkey whacks her to wake her up, the way he then slides off to the side looking away. Then her interaction with monkey…the timing is incredible, he says something and she laughs at it. , you almost forget it’s her own self she’s reacting to.

It's amazing there's barely any significant movement in her throat muscles, which you'd think would be a giveaway. Now that's a talent!

She is so damn adorable.

Hilarious. That's the funny thing about ventriloquism, pretty much anyone can learn to talk without moving their lips but it takes real talent to turn that into a performance as good as this. You need to be able to give the puppet "life" through believable dialogue, good characterisation & voicework plus you need to write the jokes and deliver them well while timing your breaths perfectly. Add onto that, the difficulty of performing a song at the same time and she's like a one woman entertainer, specialising in everything.

A ventriloquist once told me that if you use your tongue against your teeth to pronounce an N that it still pretty much sounds right. Similarly a D stands in for a B. So a dride gets narried becomes a bride gets married.

"breathe, Nina. I'm dying over here" is not just funny; it's the most understatedly intelligent line of this entire routine

Made me realize just how much I missed and needed to laugh... I'm still grinning now!

I’ve now been watching Nina for a while and I think I can say this with confidence now. I’m in my 70s and I’ve seen all the great ventriloquists…Bergen, Winchell, Lewis, Dunham, Farmer. Nina Conti is the GOAT. I swear, Monkey is real. Thank you for the hours of entertainment.

This is very original & sharply witty. I haven't seen any imitators though I can't imagine any better.
