    3-4 different guys at my local track all in the last month have bought the NB4 and that thing looks, feels and works excellent. Super jealous of them just cuz I’m broke at the moment but definitely the way to go for anybody who has $150-$200 and wants a transmitter and 2 receivers that quality wise could probably easily be sold for double the actual price in my opinion. Definitely very very nice.

    This seems really nice, thanks for showing it to us! I think I own 4 or more transmitters, plus all the ones from the RTR's, and I have to admit all of them are annoying to some degree. Doesn't matter if they are cheapos or midrange, I haven't found one that is right for me yet. I just recently started using Dumbo, one of the cheaper models, so I am quite impressed with the brand, and I think I will give this a go at some point... I need to find out if it can be powered with rechargible AA's, and if so, if it can be charged via the USB plug, or if it's for data only... Or maybe if I use a lithium ion 2s, might charge on the USB...

My sledge is the only one with a metal chassis and I’ve already had two receivers go bad (running max8G2 combo). Could be bad luck, TQI ran fine, so I think it is caused by the impacts when jumping? They run fine for a while, but start to glitch after some time when the car hits the ramp. Bars and tone also had some durability issues with GT5 receivers, so thought why not try Dumbo. • @DoRC

    I would recommend maybe avoiding radio link. I had them for quite some time and I found that with certain combinations the receivers tended to brown out when the ESC was under heavy load such as when steering would bind. A glitch buster capacitor fixes the problem but it's still a pain to have to deal with. I never had a problem with rain so yeah it might be a problem with Wi-Fi interference

One of the main things I love about is the internal antenna receivers. I'm always swapping receivers around and it's really nice not to have to jam antennas down into the box. I also really like the first party cell phone holder that they have for it. It's very high quality and is honestly the main reason why I use it now. I would consider switching to this one because it's smaller and actually feels better in the hand but as of yet there's no cell phone holder for it so I can't use it for my channel.

Is there a way to use a wider pulse width? Or would I have to buy a 270° servo to get 120° of throw? I’d really appreciate any advice you have. Nice. Looks like a competitor to the 8 channel Radiolink. As far as the 10 model limit....for that kind of price, it wouldn't be one bit of a problem for me. I have 4 RC's and have exceeded my financial limit to have them. So anyone with shelves upon shelves of hoarded RC models could afford another transmitter. Besides, not every basher is gonna need 10 channel capability, so most of their existing transmitters should suffice. This one would be excellent for crawlers with a lot of servos and lights. You can't have it all, and why would you want to? When does MORE turn to ENOUGH?

  • @DoRC

    I understand your point of view on that and a lot of people won't need more than 10 models I just think it's annoying when artificial limitations are imposed. Back in the day it actually cost the company money to have enough memory on board so only supporting a certain number of models made sense. These days that's just not the case. I guarantee you the memory of available on that transmitter could probably support a thousand models so the 10 model limit is literally just a variable that they chose. Batteries in devices that you can't replace but should be able to. Limits on things that shouldn't have them, and things that SHOULD have limits.... don't. Like greed. No limits on greed. Uncapped, unchecked greed. Never enough. Like outsourcing jobs overseas to avoid paying halfway livable wages. Union busting practices. No limits on the greedy corporations who outsource these jobs. They're "free" to betray they're own country for maximum profit. "Freedom." Uncapped free enterprise, and they just hoard the profits, so to keep money in circulation here, the gov has to print more, and when that happens, the dollar becomes worth less and less. I have an X6 and was always thinking if they’d make one too have a model memory I’m there. I was eyeing the Noble NB4 though. I like the easy interface on the new Dumbo. Yeah the DX5 rugged touchpad is really annoying. At first I wasn't sure about the interface on the Dumbo but it's actually fairly intuitive. There is definitely some chinglish in there but it's not like it stops you from understanding what the options are. I know a couple people said they would have liked to have seen a touch screen on it but honestly I'm happy to give up a touch screen for a smaller screen. You really only interact with the screen when you're first setting up the vehicle and then every once in a while after that so keeping the size of the transmitter smaller is better for me. I’ve got one. Love it. Amazing to set steering end points properly. But… I’ve received my DumboRc DDF350 this week, with X6FG receivers, 1 in each of my Muraco and Radix. Setting the steering end points is easy and so much better than the stock transmitter. There's way more on this transmiter than I'll ever need, I think 10 channels! but I only need steering and throttle really. BUT (and can anyone help here?) I have programmed two models on my transmitter; 1) RADIX and 2) MURACO. I set the end points and set up the RADIX as the receiver/transmitter that comes are already bound. I bound the other I've put in the Muraco. Then tested by switching the transmitter model memory to the RADIX… and it still controlled the MURACO. Shouldn't the model memory only operate the model that is bound? Or am I binding incorrectly? The instructions for the transmitter are very basic. I don’t want end points getting mixed up depending which car I use. And how do you get the gyro to perform? How can’t be tested without driving? I’ve found the gyro on the transmitter but turning it on doesn’t seem to do anything. Do the corally cars esc’s recognise the receiver/transmitter has a gyro? Any help or a manual download would be awesome 🙌🏼

  • @DoRC

    @DoRC

    No. A lot of transmitters including these all the model selection does is alter the memory settings. The remote is bound to all receivers at the same time. You can technically control two vehicles simultaneously if you really want to :-)

    Most brands have inexpensive options. That doesn't mean this isn't inexpensive. I think anything under $100 is pretty cheap for a transmitter and this one offers a lot for that price. This has a color screen, telemetry, lipo compatibility, full graphic screen, metal wheel, 10 channels, a bunch of mixing options, a ton of customizability and more all for what I'm seeing is about $30 less than the sanwa. @biggnasty989 not sure the throttle curve would actually be the same thing as a perfect pass. The perfect pass allows you to hit the throttle fully and then it ramps up the signal to the ESC at a specified rate. The throttle curve really just softens the response at the middle of the throttle range. If you nail the throttle it's still going to immediately go to Full throttle.
