As someone who worked at a cemetery and transferred ashes many times, those weren't real cremation ashes. Real cremation ashes have dark and light ash, they also have bits of bones and teeth in them. So no, he was faking it.

@@carol.stoeser not true.. we have a few urns around our house, my grandpa Mike's urn, a tiny one of his ashes and I ware a tiny urn necklace with my dad's parents ashes in it around my neck, and when we went to go spread the rest of my grandpa Henry's ashes they were that color, and there was no bones or teeth. They make sure everything is cremated because no loved one wants to see peices if they are going to spread them.

@@dwaekkii.___ actually you would be surprised, My dad's real father died when he was only 6 years old, so when the man he did grow up with calling dad, passed away, he made sure that he set aside ashes to be made into keepsakes for the grandkids, with the rest he brought home to have his dad near just a little longer, before they went and spread them at frank slide, well my idiot step brothers at the time, thought it was my dad's ashtray, and went to go throw it out, just as me and his now ex wife's oldest son is coming up the stairs, and we yelled STOPPP they jumped outta there skin, I grabbed the box and ran into my dad's room quickly checking making sure they hadn't dumped it out. Thankfully nothing was knocked out, I put it back, as I hear the boys screaming I go down and scream, do you realize you almost dumped grandpa in the garbage, both younger boys go silent. And tell me they thought it was dad's ashtray, both me and the oldest boy facepalmed, the middle boy had been out when they got home with the box and the youngest was in bed, just me and Dustin were awake. When we told dad, he was pissed! And wanted to know why they were in his room in the first place to begin with.

The dumbest one was when the guy cleaned out his great-grandmom's ashes and saying his mom is gonna be happy.
