I work in a daycare and yesterday we decided to surprise them with those inflatable dinosaur costumes, since they loved dinosaurs and their art project was themed around them. Half were excited to see it and the other half were terrified. As soon as we saw that, we explained and showed them that it was just a costume and that they knew the person in it. They were able to calm down after that but we all felt terrible for scaring the kids unintentionally. If the kids were scared of that I can’t even imagine any of them going through this! This broke my heart and angers me how anyone working around kids would even think this was a good idea. I truly hope they NEVER get to work around kids again.

Trick-or-treating when I was growing up we had this one guy in the neighborhood who’s brain must’ve had faulty wiring, he wore a super gory jester costume every year and played this “game” where he used sleight of hand to pretend to be stealing candy from one kid’s bag to give it to the other kid while over-acting creepily. We all know how possessive young children are naturally at that age & I’m pretty sure he traumatized every child on the block. To this day I fantasize about going out on Halloween as an adult and ripping his dumb gross mask off, stealing all his candy before kicking him square in the nuttysack

I used to have a Michael Myers outfit and my sister had a kid who was like 3 or 2 and when he would act up she didn’t want to hit him so she would tell me to wear it and just stand at the outside window and stare at him… that’s what I did and if he continued to misbehave she would say “if you don’t behave the Michael Myers will come “ and he would start acting right lol But all I would do is stand at the window and when he saw me he would run and that’s it. Looking back at it Im not proud of it, but if my sister told me to do the shit these day care workers did to the damn kids I would refuse that’s just excruciating. Imagine just prolonging such a harsh treatment, October is for spooky stuff I get that but kids shouldn’t be punished for it. I am grown up now and have a niece who hates Halloween because it’s too scary for her. This shit is really traumatizing to kids and should not be done to the extreme or at all. I know that now that I’m older and we need to be better than this. Glad they fired these workers, this shit was extreme. Scaring kids isn’t a good tactic, even if they used my tactic like “if you don’t behave the ghost will get you” and they would have the mask there at a window that shit would still fuck with a kid psychologically. (My situation was different because we are family compared to a damn daycare you give your kids) but I digress… Kids won’t forget that, we need to do better.

I hated being tickled, plus i couldn't shield my feet from her with the blanket because she would yank it off anyway. She was having fun and thought I was, because obviously when you laugh from being tickled you're having fun. Throughout my childhood, when other kids feared ghosts and demons when the lights were out, my fear was about having my feet tickled. Two decades later, I would never let anyone touch my feet, and cannot sleep with my feet exposed. I also cannot sleep without my chin shielding my neck but that's another story.

It makes me so angry that so many people, even those involved with child care, dont understand how fragile a child's mind can be. I had this same talk with a girl on social media about a (separate) case where some sisters made their very young little brother cry for months because they made him believe that he had married a doll and therefore had lots of obligations etc. According to her, this kind of "fun" is totally fine because kids are "tough" and wont remember it after a few years. The kid cried and was upset for months mind you, to the point of not wanting to go to school because he had a childhood crush on a classmate or something, it wasnt just some afternoon prank. He actually seemed depressed. I can just imagine what kind of issues this poor kid may have when it comes to intimacy, romance and marriage when he grows up. This girl apparently worked with children routinely, as well, and she saw no issue with it. I guess the "girls' fun" matters more to some people.

Society needs to wake up and stop enabling women like this to exist without putting them in jail cells like we do to men who behave in such ways. Society is treating women as if they deserve unlimited get out of jail free cards because they're female and therefore 'don't know any better' or are 'harmless and didn't mean any harm'. A daycare I went to did this to us. They would line all the kids up against the walls turn off the lights and scream at us with a scream mask to “stop crying” while the other employees sat back and laughed. This happened EVERY Friday. The owners also got caught hitting babies and throwing them into cribs, the daycare is still up today. This video brings back all those same feelings I had back then. Those poor babies :(

She was having fun and thought I was, because obviously when you laugh from being tickled you're having fun. You said it, man. Sadism. Or they are completely disconnected from how children's minds work. Neither of those is good.
Studies show that a very harsh bright light can cause permanent trauma to an infant. These kids are a bit older, but the metric holds good context- It's BEYOND easy to substantiate terror within a child's worldview, when they're building just the very foundation of it.
As a person who has been "punished" by being scared many times as a kid, I am deeply traumatized and have mental health issues. Not JUST from that, but I genuinely believe that it heavily contributed to it.
I work at a daycare, and this is absolutely horrific. Making the kids feel safe and comfortable is a top priority. Especially when a lot of them have a difficult time dealing with separation anxiety from their parents. This was literally so painful to watch.

As a daycare worker who works with young childen, this disturbs me. A kid cried today cause his mittens we're a little wet, and one cried for a solid half hour cause I couldnt hug her cause I was helping out other kids.

They got charged with felony child abuse, best idea ever
4:29 why didn't I think of that
The worst part of this is that they’re gonna have nightmares for years. I remember when I was 6 I heard kids talking about Bloody Mary and I have nightmares until I was 11. If that was just from hearing something, being in a situation like that is definitely traumatizing.

seriously. my sister told me a horrifying story when we were in line for a ride at Six Flags when I was 8 or 9 and it still fucking terrifies me now and I can't stop thinking about it whenever I wait in line there.

Imagine your 7 year old brother telling a 3year old you the world's gonna blow up in a million years
hearing the children scream and cry is the most heartbreaking thing i’ve seen in a while. that woman is so evil.

why are you acting like they are getting slaughtered wtf? it's dumb but shes not beating them up or some shit
kids are extremely fragile, small things like this can lead to fractures that spread far into adulthood, without them ever knowing why.
ive never wanted to punch someone so bad
You should do a breast milk tier list but get Matt to take progesterone until he lactates and you have to guess which is Matt’s milk

I think it would be pretty obvious. There are components missing from the pseudo-breastmilk produced from males.

This is one of those things people might joke about when their kids misbehave but everyone just understands that it would be beyond awful to actually do it.
Getting fired is not enough, she should be sued and put in prison.
