My team Everton signed the great Graeme Sharp from Dumbarton just before this was made, went on to win leagues FA cup and European cup winners cup medals and become one of Everton's all time leading scorers, still works for the club today, so thanks to the Sons.
I think that could be loosely described as a ground with character.
Come on the mighty sons.
two old friends of mine, from my youth, played for dumbarton, early 70s... tommy and colin mcadam... (i played for queens park and albion rovers)... famously tommy went onto play for celtic and big colin for rangers... good to see boghead, brings back memories (rip, colin)

@@Jason.King.at.your.service yes he did... i think tommy and colin are the only brothers ever to play against each other in an old firm game
Been there a few times with my team Stirling Albion. Was always a ground famous for having games postponed due to waterlogged pitches i.e. there would be one game off in Scotland, and it would be at Boghead. That said the old ground is a million times more appealing as a football fan than the soulless one stand job at the Rock.
It was better then than now.
Great video shame about the bagpipes!!!!

Yes, a bit over the top. Two paracetamol and off to my bed.
I came to Dumbarton in 1969, still here, but my father was a Jags fan so he never took me to Boghead. I went once with the school, I agree with the previous poster, it was a dump., the new one is in the wrong place though, I think they will move again if they get the money from somewhere.
Am sure the goal end terrace roof at 1:00 was from a railway station platform ?
