As a young black female, it was so… amazing seeing a princess of my color. I’m sure other minorities has the same feeling when a prince/princess of their race has their own movie and etc. It’s even better when it’s done so BEAUTIFULLY.

Agree to disagree. I’m a minority and grew up loving all the Disney princesses as well as other animated films. Even had a regular Barbie Doll back in the day. I never once felt like I needed to see my race represented. Then again, I was raised not to focus on anyone’s skin color because it doesn’t matter. It may be a part of you, but it doesn’t define you. As a result I lead a very happy childhood and have had friends of all races throughout my life. We get along great with no bitterness or resentment. A much better way to live in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong. I love this movie, but it’s because it tells a good story. Not because of any skin color represented. I watch movies that have a great cast and tell great stories. I don’t care at all if they show diversity or not. It’s just not important.

Not really, tbh, but idk. I’m an optimistic, so bare with me here. But, I do wish that they didn’t resort to transformation as the majority of the movie. I still love TP&TF tho, despite the majority of it being animals and bugs… I mean, at least it showed some black representation, even if the actual colored people were frogs, lol

He is NOT a feminine man. He's the most masculine man between Joe and Aaron. I've noticed guys who are surrounded by women but hang with guys are very masculine. They know how to separate feminity with masculinity. It's the guys who have only female friends and the inability to be friends with males that are feminine.

I know people hate on this movie bc of the frog transformation taking up most of the film so we can't appreciate the black leads and while I agree it's a valid criticism for sure I do still ADORE this movie and it's still one of my fave disney/Disney princess films and I'm so glad yall are watching it 😭😭 Naveen top tier Disney Prince and Tiana top tier Disney Princess and Lottie top tier bestie I love them all

agree! As a black woman, I do wish for another Disney princess that isn't nonhuman for most of the movie, but I love it regardless! When it comes to princes, Naveen is top tier. All the POC princes are top tier(Naveen, Shang, Aladdin). Also, the Shadowman is one of the best Disney villains with one of the best villain songs!

Yeah, honestly. I’m a black woman as well, so it is a LITTLE upsetting that the main black roles are frogs for 99% of the movie, but there’s STILL TONS of black representation (outside of just race), so I love it for that. Plus, everything else slaps: the characters, music, plot, EVERYTHING

She and Naveen are such wonderful characters and this has always been my favorite movie since I watched it in theatres as a small child. But this movie and all the characters are definitely top-tier!

You don’t see it in the vid, but during Friends on the Other Side, wherever the Voodoo Man’s shadow lands on the wallpaper, it warps the design into skulls and crossbones. It’s super subtle but I love details like that

it kills me how underrated this movie is, it’s one of the most visually stunning movies ever animated by disney.

This is still one of my fav Disney princess movies. They actually touched on different parts of black culture instead of making her black but like lives in New York, doesn't engage in black American(usually southern) culture at all. They gave her a good story, had some of the best Disney music ever. and it also showed how Lottie's white family has a lot more privilege and opportunities than black Americans Tiana knows and lives in the same area as. But they also tried to help Tiana out, supported her, and didn't just try to throw money at Tiana as that's not how she wanted her success. She didn't take advantage of their privilege even though it was offered to her which would have been a massive help for her dreams, but she was also raised a certain way which was nice to see as well, they didn't make the white rich people the heroes because they helped her or something, it's just a really good movie.

I miss hand drawn animations like this, I get tired of the 3D animations at times...

I remember I almost cried when there was finally a new princess that was beautuful and black. As a black girl even my mom was so happy. It was a special time foe a lot of black girls. That we could also be the main character in a fairytail with a happy ending too.

This is the pinnacle of positive masculinity, just to bros, chillin, watching princess and the frog cracking jokes and gushing over the beautiful animation and music.

one thing i love about this movie is how the prince fell inlove with her as a frog before falling inlove with her as a human

Tangled, princess and the frog, Mulan and beauty and the beast are some of my top fave Disney movies and me and my family have watched princess and the frog many times I even found my mom watching numerous times by herself

Yeah it's one the reasons I've only seen the movie once. I've also noticed that people seem to like Lottie more than Tiana. It's cool, I guess, that the best friend outshines the main character. I have mixed feelings about this movie.
