In this Walkthrough I'll complete the game collecting all the Gems and Treasures of each level on Extreme mode and without dying.
You can unlock the Extreme difficulty by completing the game on Hard difficulty. On the Extreme mode, differently from the Hard one, checkpoints in levels are limited, items and gems are changed and there are very few ice-creams and 1-UPS. The most important difference, though, is that if you lose all your lives, it's GAME OVER and you have to restart another game.
Transylvania (on Extreme Mode):
Total money= 2,368,000 $
Hidden treasure= Heart Container
Ice-creams= 8
1-UPS= 0

Yes. Amusingly, this is probably why the Amazon section had a cutscene where the Inca natives gave Scrooge permission to get the "backscratcher."
Where did he get the yellow numbers number sign from the one's in the thumbnails
I know that Magica needs Scrooge's dime for her powers and conquest plans. But why only Scrooge's? she could just get a normal dime or even a pure silver dime.

Scrooge's "number one dime" is both the thing that he treasures the most in the world, and the start of his riches. And therefore, it's value in a spell is that it's the richest person in the worlds most prized item, and the "lucky" start of his fast fortune. It represents all the hard work that Scrooge put into acquiring his worth. The dime itself, is only worth a dime, and mostly worthless to anyone other than himself. But it's what it means to Scrooge that makes it an item of power. And THAT is why it's needed for spells.
