Ducks Trained to Manage Rice Paddies in Thailand

A listener to my podcast turned me on to this video. I would love to get a word for word translation but his boss is Thai and here are the basics.
This farmer trains his ducks to do this work
It takes two months of training before they are ready.
He hires out their service to rice farmers
The ducks enter rice field three times per rice growing cycle.
They eat insects that are destroying the rice and then fertilize the crop with their manure.
Back at the farm they lay 500-700 eggs/day in rainy season and 2000-2500 eggs/day the rest of the year.
Quite a feat of organic, sustainable method combining farming and animal husbandry.
If anyone can translate the entire thing and send me a transcript with time stamps I will make a full version with full subtitles.

0.00 - 3000 ducks 0.30- Every morning the truck contains living weedkillers to rice fields. 0.35-These ducks are released in fields about 6.00 a.m. or 6.30 a.m. -10.00 a.m. every morning. 1.09- A paddy for the rice-duck farming system must be about a month after transplanting. 1.17- For this system, ducks can go around a paddy. 1.21 - Someone was afraid that a system damaged a paddy. 1.24 - Then, How is a paddy damaged? 1.30 - ducks always swim along the way while a paddy field must be full of water. A paddy can recover. 1.51 - ducks eat cherry snails, worms and small insects. 1.59 - The farmer will stop this system at the booting stage on rice and will release ducks again after harvesting. 2.07 - Ducks are released to fields about 2 months until the booting stage. 2.16 - Besides, duck poop is good fertilizer for rice. 2.24 - There's no need to buy weedkiller. The benefit to raising a duck is for fertilizer and egg production. 3.16 - Ducks have to train for getting in and getting out a truck for more 2 months. It's not easy to train them. 3.54 - I have to use a branch for arrangement. 4.26 - Ancient people said that don't be good at everything like a duck ( It is a Thai proverb. A duck can do everything but not good at anything. It is like an English proverb that Jack of all trades, master of none.) But I don't think so. A duck can swimable, flyable, walkable, soundable, eatable insects, producible eggs and meat. 4.55 - I see my money now. After I already gather eggs,I'll sell eggs to a regular costumer. 5.01 - 3000 ducks usually can produce eggs for 2000-2500 eggs everyday. But ducks produce less in raining season about 500- 700 eggs. 5.21 - Today, he gathered 700 eggs and sold for 3 baht each. Sorry for my English. I hardly to used it. The farmer spoke in a roundabout way and quite unclearly. That makes me confused. Hope everyone understand this.

Man man.....thank you so very much for translating and explaining....your English is very good, infact you speak it better than those only language is English.... I agree with you about ducks, and as with most all animals, we as humans don't give most of these animals the credit they deserve for being smarter and better at doing things than we as humans want to believe....is it funny how domestic animals can usually understand us when we humans speak to them, but we as the more Superior species can't usually understand what an animal is trying to tell us when they speak to us...just saying????? Thank you again...

Ducks are super smart, I let mine out to free range all day, then late in the day I clap my hands and tell them to go to bed (safe in the barn), and that is what they do, no matter where they are at, it is very cool, I enjoy my ducks and of course when they get to the safety of the barn, they get treats (evening meal), this is a good arrangement, I am happy and my ducks are happy.

Many years ago when I used to spend my holidays at my Auntie's small farm, I took care for tiny chickens. I tauhgt them to come over on my (mouth/lip) whistle and of course the tasty supper too. Usually the chickens are attracted by high-pitched call 'cip-cip!' but I didn't want to call them like that.

It was mainly about a symbiotic relationship between the ducks and rice and how innovative and kind-hearted the duck keeper was. The film was extremely well done. It actually won an award. I also found it heartwarming and wish all animal lovers could have seen this video. Thank you, Thai Airways for providing it on your flights!

They have gotten out of the fencing and all he did was make that noise and they come running back. I've seen it applied to pet ducks as well. Don't see why it wouldn't work for chickens.

Even without the translation, not too hard to figure out what's going on there. Good find, Jack. When I called the animals (ducks, geese, sheep, cows, and a horse) I just yelled "Cooooo" and they'd come running because they knew that meant grain feeding time. They were conditioned from the first few days of their life that my presence and me repeating "Coooo" meant food. They followed the older animals until they learned what it meant and then passed it down. Not really complicated. Jack does with his "Duck, duck duck" call in his other videos.

His fields get expert garden care as, the runner ducks are small and lightweight eat all the bugs with no hazardous spray. Runner ducks are light weight so no worries about them trampling other ducks and they won’t eat anything but snails, bugs, weeds ect! Best thing is it is 100% safe , instead of nasty poison ☠️ sprays. Love this video!,
