Ducati Streetfighter V2 | First Ride | Better Option Than The V4?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

NEW GoPro LUTs - bit.ly/3Tgw1Es
Today I take out the Streetfighter V2, I honestly think this bike is just a better road bike than the V4, dont get me wrong the V4 is a beast, but its the same as my Tuono its just too much. Where the V2 is still wicked fast but you can use a lot more of it.

Great stuff champ. I got a Streetfighter V4 after having a Tuono 660. I was so close to getting the Tuono V4. I ended up with the Streetfighter V4 because I preferred the riding position and the Aprilia dealer network sux here in Melbourne.. I tried to get a quickshifter and IMU for the Tuono 660 and it was like trying to get blood out of a stone. I would love to have a Tuono V4 because Tuono rhymes with Porno and nothing sounds better than the Tuono 660 or V4.

When I was deciding between my v4 tuono non factory (which is cheaper than Sfv2) and this one or v4, tuono became a no brainer since I wanted a bike for longer distance riding where wind protection, better higher speed stability/handling, fuel gauge, and cruise control help a lot. Looked at it at ready for red tour at my dealership before pulling the trigger on the tuono, still had my name down on sfv2 in case I wanted to swap my 690 supermoto for it, the green looks amazing, maybe I'll still get a green one, thought the engine as well as quality and finish was extremely underwhelming for the price. Power feels like there's nothing until 8500 compared to tuono and sfv4, handling as you said is better than tuono at lower speeds and would be better and more comfy around town with the hydraulic clutch, but then the power is so high up that it's not very accessible at street speeds, the seat had a built in heater and vibrator on the one I tried, the screen was vibrating as well. It did feel a lot smaller, lighter, and narrower than tuono, also felt more engaging and enjoyable to ride than sfv4, v4 also feels like there's not much in bottom and midrange compared to tuono, although it does take off at higher revs and speeds that you shouldn't really be doing on the street. Tuono is just so much more visceral, raw, and engaging/fun while having usable smooth and creamy torque and power on tap compared to some big v twins that just want to leap forward like superduke (the new one is supposedly more refined). I thought v2 was pretty good for around town and canyons roads that aren't too far away but also severely overpriced with base tuono v4 as well as s1000r and mt10(can basically get SP for sfv2 money) being cheaper, even something like 890 duke R supposedly has more fun, more power and torque until it runs out of revs and sf gets past 8500 or so, also has stylemas and nice master cylinder, some say chassis/suspension is better as well, not sure how that compares, didn't really like the 790 that I tried. The sfv4s that I tried had an obscenely loud akra, probably without silencers. I don't know how Ducati gets through regulations with even the stock exhausts that are pretty darn loud.

@@captain_midlife thanks. Also in you campare Ducati SFV2 and Tuono V4 - which one is hotter while idling in traffic? I am living in Athens, Greece where it could be up to 40C during summer period so heat issue is essential one) I do understand those bikes are not for traffic but anyway I would face with some stoppages, it's a real world) On the other hand, I was thinking of Yamaha MT-09 SP. Price is EUR 13k vs new Tuono V4 17.5k....Yamaha is like toyota, but sometime you want more style/fan which Italian bikes can give you...but with more complicated service and so on)

You can’t compare the MT09 to the others imo. The MT09 is no where near as fast. The V2 is a good middle ground and probably the best option over all. Heat they are pretty similar. Maybe the Tuono would be a little warmer but neither is that bad.

Hey Captain Midlife, I’d love to get your opinion on this! You literally mentioned the 3 bikes I have in my love triangle right now, and you might be able to help me pick one. I’m currently running a 2021 mt09sp, it’s an awesome bike and I love it, but I’ve got an opportunity to upgrade or just try something different. I still want to go a naked sport bike because I do a little bit of pillion riding. So I’m looking at either the V2 or an aprillia tuono 1100 factory 2018-2020 model year as potential upgrade options. Keen for something a bit more stable and less twitchy than the MT09, but more powerful, and still has solid torque down low and in the mid range (which is what I’m concerned about on the V2). I love how fun the MT is as well, and from what I’ve heard the tuono is less fun and more serious. What do you reckon?

Hi got a question here from New Zealand. I am currently looking for an upgrade from my MT-03 (just got full license). and considering Streetfighter v2 as my upgrade. What do you think of the heat from the bike for New Zealand weather? I test rided from Cyclespot like 2 weeks ago, and i felt the heat a bit intense. But bearable, i wonder when temp get hotter in summer will it be issue Will you trust to take the bike on a touring road trip? like Coromendel, South Island tour...etc I know this bike is not design for it, but i am fine with scarifies on comfort, what I am not sure is the fuel range (especially no fuel gauge) and also is the bike reliable for long distance? p.s. i have done touring on my MT-03 so i know how sport bike not suitable for it, and i just simply love the look of this bike and the sound of it. i am more asking on opinion on how terrible it will be in term of reliability. i heard Ducati improved quite a lot in recent year and they should be more or less reliable now

When you have no fairing to hide behind, having 208hp makes zero sense. That bike can generate speed that you can't actually use, or wouldn't want to use... The V2 is still stupid fast, but more usable and you save 5 grand? That pays for some nice accessories, tires and track days right there... Cheaper to insure to... It is amazing that we live in a world where 153hp is considered "middle of the road"... lol

Very different bikes. I have ridden the latest S1000R and I didn’t really like it, I was really surprised. The S1000 is very mellow, all the power is way up high (I mean it is an in-line 4cyl so expected) The Speed Triple RS feels quite a bit faster than the S1000, and the Ducati servicing is just a pain. If I forget about the servicing I’d get the Ducati V2 but the better bike is the triumph imo
