Christopher Hetherington yeah really only the fast bits on the second half of the track the v4 starts pulling away, on one lap we got the v4 at 189mph on the straight !!

Yes mate for sure, Matt who was riding said he actually probably preferred the v2 on the track too, thing is for me l, as with most people, I am probably not a good enough rider to get the best out of the V4s , it’s that good a bike you would need to be at BSB/WSB standard

The v2 with about 10 more hp would be a perfect bike. The v4 is too intimidating. You would probably go faster on a v2 because it would not scare the crap out of you like the v4 would. Excellent video.

Yeah, I prefer the v2 tbh over the v4, don’t get me wrong the v4 is the better bike but I just prefer the v2, was out on one yesterday , such an awesome bike, the one in this video is standard but an Akrapovic exhaust gives it a little more and also makes it sound so good

You can get more then 10hp on a V2, it makes this bike overall the best balanced bike, V4 is just for a straight line

get the v2 with a akrapovic race kit you drop like 7kg and get 10 plus hp that will deffinitly help out.

Great video thanks for sharing.. I actually liked the v2 sound.. I am planning on getting the v2.. only as its mainly for the street.. cheaper to buy and insure. But I guess its which ever one makes you smile the the most

Mate the v2 for me is perfect for the road, probably prefer it to the v4 just cause I feel like I can ride it harder on the road, just depends if you like a twin over the v4 engine , the v4 is really fast, prob a bit too much to get the most out of on the road, unless your a racer it’s hard enough to get the most out of them on the track !

@@ProjectMoto I definitely agree .. I've had 1000cc for a while and have been wanting to down size for along time as you just cant use it on the road.. Also with the amount of dash cams now adays its probably too easy to speed without realising.. great video best v2 video out...

Yeah the V2 is such a great track bike and the power is more useable on the road :)

Been to Silverstone twice. Pouring rain both times. Of course I am from across the pond and work only brings me there when it rains lol... Seems like a flat track overall. I think the tighter race tracks favour the V2, and longer tracks/track that throws shapes might favour the V4. Very cool comparison though.

Yeah that sounds like UK weather, yeah it’s a flat track , we just been Donington and Brands which are not flat, the V2 tbh is really good everywhere but just loses out on the straights on a track like Silverstone

When your on the move on a track or road neither tbh is very hot but you do have to be moving along at enough speed so you don’t feel the heat... but traffic ,town or stopped they are both hot... too hot, easy to solve though, don’t stop and ride fast

Great video! I have a v2 and noticed an issue with power at higher speeds I couldn’t break 134 or should I say it took a while to get there this video confirms that maybe something is wrong with mines

Yeah should definitely do more then 134 mate, the bike in this video is a standard bike, top speed should be 175+ on a V2 I guess

@@ProjectMoto thanks I went for another spin the other day and tried again this time in race mode and was a completely different story I got up to much higher speeds quicker than in sport still a little baffled as sport should provide full power either way taking it in to get checked out

hmmm... I would've thought the v2 would carry a little more corner speed. Maybe an adjustment in riding style, would make the lap time closer? Awesome video though

In some places it does carry a very little more, they are both awesome but the v4 is a lot faster pulling from the corners and too speed, to be fair it was just a track day and was not really a planned head to head just had the footage from both bikes, and was the first ‘clear lap’ without other bikes to compare them, next one we do I will do a more clearer head to head test, the riders on the day actually preferred the v2 to ride even though the slightly slower lap times, I really like the v2 and personally prefer it on the road just because you fell like your pushing it more then v4

Both sounds great but i prefer v2 sound.

Nice vid. Same tires on each? V4 seems able to carry more mid corner speed in some turns, and less or equal in others (for example, the v4 is 5mph faster at the 55 second mark)

Thanks , yeah they were the same tyres, v2 and v4 are different size tyres though , although same day same rider riding and changes bikes is a little different getting used to them so a few miles an hour difference here and there on bends on a lap is gonna happen but the V4 just pulls on the straights

I have just placed an order for the V2 Bayliss in France. Lucky to get hold of one I think. The V4 won't stand a chance against a V2 with "21" on the fairing :-D

Yeah the V4 is definitely more hard work, as in your breaking harder, accelerating harder and holding on to it.. but both are a workout for the day

Unsurprising. The more powerful bikes already have way too much straightline pwerformance relative to their cornering/braking capabilities and lower weight becomes more important than more power. Regardless it was a very entertaining comparison of two sensational bikes.

Yeah for sure, was just showing them side by side with the same rider, both great bikes the V4 is just so fast on the straights compared to the v2.. the less power makes the v2 a little easier to ride ;)

I notice in a lot of videos Ducatis have a wobble under power. Is that just a quirk of these bikes or what?

That’s cause there going faster 😂😂 Na these are just standard bikes with standard road tyres so pushing them a bit they can move around a little, you can change it with setting up the bike but for me I like a bike a bike like that

I had a V4 and now a V2 and the V2 is the better Bike for me !

Kal Heer I did time them but can’t remember exactly, il do it again , I think they were about 2mins 22 or something with about 2.5 secs difference between the 2 bikes , had about 6 hours of onboard footage don’t think these were the quickest laps captured just the first 2 laps I see without other bikes on track, I did also see on one lap the V4s at 189mph on the straight , standard road bikes , on a track day

@@kalheer still a good time mate in intermediate, Tommy Bridewell was in the fast group too and he made everyone feels slow 😂 , there’s always some faster out there , but think the point of a track day is just to go at your own pace and enjoy it, if you push over what your comfortable at it start to become not so enjoyable, the V4s had Pirelli Diablo slicks on and the v2 had the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa treaded tyres on, so the v2 done even better I guess, but then again some prefer the slick some the treaded

Brilliant!! Thank you; why hasn't anyone else thought to do this? This stuffs a sock in the mouths of the bigger is better crowd. Where I live lane-splitting is legal, but you can't benefit from it if you're trying to squeeze a hippopotamus between the Teslas and effing clueless Prius drivers.

They both have a first service at 600 miles and then every 7500 miles , they are2hrs labour and then parts, so depending on where you have the service done about £200-£250 I guess

@@ProjectMoto I honestly think on a shorter circuit the v2 and v4 would be nearly identical, its really only on the longer straights I see the hp difference

Very often the 600 cc bikes beat tje 1000 cc in the twist as its more nimble and not as scary..

To be fair the V4 sounds good when your on it and the sounds not through the mic but for me the V2 sounds better :)
