My left ear really enjoyed the audio of this video! ;)
Best bike ever to me. Sure, it's not competitive anymore in 2019, but the feeling it gives you is one of a kind.
So good to see you dabbling in older bikes again ..As all my bikes have been budget conscious 15 plus years old ..but they've all (nearly 50 of them now ) been great reliable rides..at affordable prices...but still some big old powerful beasts amongst them..good show young Mr Flyer ..peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤
I absolutely remember the first time I saw one parked up at uni, I walked around it filling my eyes with it, I could not get enough of it. Thank you 😇
Enjoying the classic bike reviews. Would be happy to see more in the future
I love the fact that your now showing off older bikes, great addition to the channel. I'm a keeper too and love my 17 year old Honda hornet. M Never lets me down.
I currently own a 2002 998. I absolutely love it. I took great delight in hearing your thoughts about the 916. Keep up the great work.
If you were a kid in the 90’s and you’re in your 30s today this was your dream superbike!

I remember drooling over the 916 in magazines. It really was the best looking bike of it's day. I'm glad I didn't know what they sounded like back then, would have ruined my fantasies. To my ear those motors sound like they hate life. I know that they are fine, and are meant to sound all clattery like that, but it would bug me every ride.

This was the poster on my wall. I now own a 1299S, the last of the L-twin Ducati superbikes. ❤️
Congratulations on the Bennett's sponsor, Flyer! Sad to say I'm not in the UK! I can't win that beautiful Ducati. If I had a choice to see you review a bike, it would be the one that I dreamed of when it was released. The Triumph Daytona 1200. Cheers from Pittsburgh!
I remember one of these overtaking me at a race track, & I fell in love with its sound out of the corners. In Australia they were going for about AUD $25,000 on the road ride away. I had my cash ready (it was all cash those days) walked into Ducati & started talking about servicing. About 20mins later I was driving home with $25K in my backpack!!! Get a load of this! They wanted, at the time, $2000 for the first service, & $1000 for every one after that!!!! STREWTH!!!! Just to put it into perspective, my 1990 Suzuki GSXR750 L at the end of the year bargain prices in 1990 was $8,600 ride away, with $167 for the first service, & roughly $150 for all the ones to follow. A couple of years later, the Honda CBR900RR Fireblade came out & shook the world. They were $12,500 ride away, first service $240 (which was considered expensive at the time) & about $180 for each there after. The Ducati's in the old days under the Italians was a blatant rip-off. The Germans have made them so much more reliable now, & the servicing costs are not only on par with all bikes, but much longer between services. The 916 is definitely one of the iconic bikes of our time just like the Fireblade was, but at a Ferrari priced cost. You really had to be rich or a drug dealer at the time to afford one, hem hem.......Cheers groovers ;-)

I used to ride out with a club i had a 748 at the time one guy had a 916/996 he ran a business repairing cars he also owned a Ferrari for a while he said the Ducati was more expensive to service than the Ferrari
Really enjoy reviews of older “iconic” bikes. Thanks!
Wow wow wow - what a bike. Congrats on the sponsorship... you are a rock star!!
The 916 and the RC30 were the bikes I lusted after in the 90's
Very excited at the prospect of more classic bike reviews. (Or even just bikes 5, 7, or 10 years old.) The video ride review is the best format ever devised for sharing what a bike is like to ride. Being able to experience older bikes in this way would be a unique and valuable contribution to the community. I 100% support and encourage this idea TMF!

What a great promo both the bike review and for Bennett's. Thank you Bennett for sponsoring TMF and I wish I lived in England to get a chance for the bike. I live in the USA oh well. I really love the older bike reviews so please keep them coming.

Cheers Red Rider - will do!
I rode a friends back in 1996. Great machine and one of the finest motorcycles ever made.
I own a 20 year old Suzuki GSXR 600 SRAD, she gets ridden all year round and has been one of the most reliable bikes I've owned. Plenty fun on the twisties and will out handle most of the modern sports bikes if ridden well. Proper old school induction noises and smells makes for a fantastic experience..

Exactly! Maybe add the 916 alongside if you have classic insurance for it?
Great video Andy , the Ducati 916 looks fantastic . I like how that your taking out older bikes and giving your honest opinion about them , i have never owned a new bike i have always bought used bikes and have over 40 plus years enjoyed every one of them , keep up the good work testing New and Old , all the Best
Wow, not had a bike since 1996 and get my new bike tomorrow so it’s amazing that the 916 is now a classic. Beautiful bike in 1994 and now
I sure like mine. It started as a wrecked race bike. 2000 748 seized engine. I put a 1995 916 in it. Doing 80 mph feels like 40 mph, really smooth. Thanks for the video.
Awesome video. I enjoyed the ride while viewing onboard. That was my dream bike when I first got in motorcycles back in ‘98. I ended up getting the honda that combated Ducati in wsbk. Take care, from SoCal USA
Great review of a legendary bike, it's easy to see why one of the original 916s was displayed in an art gallery.

Thankyou MissendenFlyer for your most EXELLENT review, I LOVE the Ducati 916 ( the best Ducati Sports bike EVER build )
When i last got a quote for my ELR it was more like Gordon Bennett than just Bennett's
Great review. Had a 998s when I lived in Sydney and commuted daily across the bridge, round Eastern Creek and Philip Island. Never missed a beat. Thing I remember most is induction roar on track. Sniff......
Great to see some classic bikes on the channel, especially a 916! We're currently restoring one on our channel - one day it may look as nice as that one!
Ace to see a 916 on the road. Always loved them when growing up and often lusted after the Cagiva Mito 125cc 2 stroke that emulated it! :-)
Looks a lovely machine although I doubt my 6ft 3 and 18st stone frame would fit on! Congratulations on the new sponsorship deal with Bennetts. Cheers

Loved my smaller 748, just beautiful looking between the 916 and MV Agusta F4 also designed by Tamburini there's no better looking bike in my opinion. Nice one TMF and great Bennett's are sponsoring you.
Great video TMF! I'd like to see more classics and, of course, more videos on the Interceptor 650!
Brilliant video of a fantastic iconic machine. Lovely to hear it revved thru the gears. I just love early mechanical Ducati motorcycles - pre big tech. Very unique. Thanks for posting Mr. Fly.

Stunning bike! I’d much rather have a good 916 than a later offering...
Such an icon. I've yet to ride one of these. A good friend has one so I'm being very nice to him LOL
This was the 1st bike i felt in love with. It was at the age of 22 i saw this bike and the sound just gave me shivers. that what got me into biking, but this specific bike couldn't be found in Malaysia/ or non for sale. This is a true sports bike the closes to this looks is the cagiva mito eve
Excellent video Andy. Awesome bike back in its day. Remember drooling over this in the showrooms, wishing I earned more money. Lol Look forward to the next ones. Always willing to throw my BMW R1150R in your direction. Be good to have you rip into that one. 2002 bike. 30k miles. With or without the luggage. As always, keep up the great work.
Great review, thank you. Can't beat good old carbs for smooth low rpm running. 😊
Thanks for reviewing this classic bike 👍🏻🇮🇹
Glad you enjoyed the beast! I used to insure my late fathers 1976 Bonneville with Bennett’s, sadly sold now tho.
Beautiful! Thanks!
Ah yes, my nephew bought one of these new back in the day, beautiful machine, I remember sitting on it and wondering how on earth he rode it, just a riding position I can't get used too.
Got me feeling a bit nostalgic for my old 748...beautiful bike!
Brilliant to see an old classic on the channel, bikes very nice too!

great video once again tmf stunning bike, I olso have rode one. superb machine.
Keep the classics coming
The early 90’s really were the halcyon days of motorbikes, when they had luscious curves, and didnt resemble angry insects or transformers. GSXR’s, CBR’s, ZXR’s and YZF’s, and of course the 916 and Monster, and 500GP on the telly, manly men riding ill tempered beasts. Them was the days..
Great review of a real classic, lots of great older bikes out their for good money....
I always admired this bike. It was the bike we all wanted to own in the 90's I'm glad it still sounds and looks as good as I remember. Sadly I dont have a classic bike to insure so I cant enter. 😩
You should find a 1996 cbr900rr..still my favorite. The 94-95s were good too, but 96 had the newer looks, smashing machines and light as Hell. Won the weight class if I remember right
ive just bought a Suzuki TL100s, a 97. The full power in British racing green. 90s bikes are so dangerous but so cool. I loved the 916. Great review.

Beautiful bike stunning when it was unveiled and Fogarty looked great winning races on it. But I'm 6ft and even 25 years ago I found it extremely uncomfortable. Wouldn't want to ride one now but a nice prize for the lucky winner.

Congratulations on the new sponsor Great road test on a iconic motorcycle I can remember being at Brands watching WSB with Foggy on a Ducati and the car park was a whole sea of Ducati 916, Strange how Jonathon Rea/ZX10 are more successful in WSB but never have gained the cult status

I still have a poster from when it was first released , hung up in my bedroom ,truly gorgeous bike.. Having said that i would love for you to test the laverda jota {in orange} a mans bike back in the day lol
This is the bike that made me fall in love with Ducati all those years ago. But I didn’t have any until this year...now I’m on my third. Great vid as always, thank you. Am I right in saying you did a review of the 916 without mentioning King Carl? Tut tut!

...well I mentioned WSB....
I dreamed of owning one back in the day, it's still as gorgeous as the day it was released. :-)
I have an old CBR 600(25yrs old)that always put me in a good mood whenever I rode it. It's presently SORN'd as it failed the MOT(sticking throttle) As for comfort,I actually found it more comfortable than any other bike I've ridden even after riding it down to Loomies(350+ miles)2 up I could still move about relatively easily(whereas my KTM 690 cripples me after 10 mins) I've just bought an MT-09 & ridden it over 400 miles on a trip over to Olivers Mount & back, only complaint was I kept sliding down the seat into the tank & being a bloke... My CBR has suffered though, the plastics are scratched/cracked all over & held together with cable ties/odd screws etc(as it failed a previous MOT for loose fairings)Despite its age(& 40+k miles)it will start up within a few mins trying(new battery would possibly cure this)As it was a present from my daughter,I'm not allowed to sell it(not that I'd want too)If I ever get it sorted I'd happily "pop" down to your part of the planet for you to have a go(though I doubt you'd want to ride it as it only seems to appeal to me)I replaced the rusted manifold with a stainless item hoping it might reduce the volume of the exhaust but it hasn't,so winding up the revs will cause even the deafest of drivers to hear you coming(though I find I struggle to hear properly for awhile after riding, even with earplugs in lol)I'm thinking of altering the aftermarket end can as it has no baffle(hasn't had 1 in the years I've owned it)in an attempt to make it slightly more socially acceptable as I often discover that late night has better weather than the disgusting daylight weather we're getting lately(which just reveals a facet of older machines you didn't mention,eg:it's headlight is nigh-on useless in comparison to the MT-09)& I'd prefer not to upset the neighbours. It also has analogue dials,speedo/rev counter & temp gauge & no fuel gauge(has the age old reserve setting on the stopcock)

"As it was a present from my daughter...." All I ever get is a bottle of aftershave at Christmas.
Great review of such an amazing bike.😉
Owned my 98 916 bip for 11 years now. I'm 6ft and 16 stone, but I find the bike extremely comfortable, the worst thing about this bike is the electrics (common faults) once they are sorted it's worth every penny of investment.
They're still a great looking bike. In Australia at the time, some states started cracking down on the 'one side only' running headlight on bikes. They reckoned it made bikes look deceptively skinny to oncoming traffic or something. As a result, in some states, dealers had to pull out the twin lights and jam a big square headlight right in the centre of the front fairing. It made them uuuuugly. You still see some around. Lucky bugger whoever wins this one!

Good video TMF. Thats a lovely bike.
I'm past trying to be the fastest. I miss my zx7r, I'm here bc I found a very cheap local 916, great review and yes, there stunning. Much like the 748.
Definitely a beautiful looking bike in my views I think Ducati have all the best looking bikes and will be looking to own one one day 👍
Probably the best looking bike ever. I have it's baby brother, 748, so i'm probably biased :) I also have an MV F4 that Massimo Tamburini designed after the 916. That is also very beautiful.
That feeling when you pass the red Yaris 👌

Still the only review in history to compliment the 916 mirrors.
'Retro steppin' - Good review, maybe an 851 next, followed by a 900SS, 600 Pantah, then the sprung & Desmo singles? : )
Great review of a true icon. If you are thinking of testing older bikes I would love a review of a Yamaha rd400. Two stroke smell...ahhhhh😄
A very iconic bike indeed.
Had one in 1995 most uncomfortable bike I have ever owned lasted 3 months beautiful though
It was the bike I always wanted but could never afford. I had a Yamaha 1000 Genesis and that was I think about £5000 to put into perspective the cost of the 916. Love the classic bike reviews. I have a 1200 Bandit and a Honda slr650 (you may need to look that one up) as well as a 390 Duke so please keep up the good work.

Perhaps you can get classic insurance on your Bandit and win this bike!
Just lovely!
This bike has been my dream since i was at school! One day...
Had the pleasure of a couple of these, you really need one with termis and the fueling alrered to suit, then the audio sound track is SOOOOOOOO much better. not to mention the mid range punch that came with it. Lovely bikes tho, would have another in a heart beat (although my head reminds me better to take on after the USA company took over, and not when the Fiat group still owned it).
Breathtaking motorcycle
What a lovely bike, and by the sounds of things its a pleasure to ride! As a youngster i had a couple of mad 2-strokes and would love to see you review either if possible. So Yamaha RD350LC or (my favourite, which unfortunately got wrapped around an Audi in ‘87) the Honda NS 400 R. Keep up the good work, this classic review idea is great, brings back good memories 👍🏻

Stay tuned - I will be reviewing a 2 stroke very soon on the channel (and not any old one!)
Enjoyed that sir
Most beautiful bike of all times! I´m dreaming of it since I noticed motorbikes exist :o)
This is still my dream bike from when I first properly got into bikes in the late 90s at the tender age of 13 or so. Still haven't ever ridden one but it's one of those 'never meet your heroes' sort of situations and i'd be scared of hating it, especially being about 6ft3 and reading endless articles way back when of how uncomfortable it was.

My buddy had a new 996S (very expensive) and had many service and warranty issues. Dealers are few and far between, also. Anyway I rode it once and it almost took the fillings out of my teeth! Very cramped and I'm 5' 11" and 185.
Who wouldn’t like that? I don’t have a classic bike but I’m a classic, well I’m old. Yeah analogue beats the TFT.
One of these or possible a 748 next for me I think, first and current bike is a cbr400 baby blade
The most awesome bike ever... pity your wide angle lense spoilt some views. Otherwise great job as always 😃
The 916 is the greatest looking motorcycle of all time followed closely by the RC30, 45 and 51. I saw a 51 the other day....it sounded like God clearing his throat.
Good stuff TMF,heading in the right direction methinks. In the same vein how about an early blade or R1,possibly even an FZR Exup? Then there's the .....blahblah i could go on and on. Loving it.
The juttering on newer bikes, 1 & 2 cyl specifically, is because they have to run the engine super lean. Emissions......
You are wearing my helmet. Nice!
Great machine, very iconic.
Classics you should choose one from 60s 70s and 80s? You have done bike of 90s. Love to see reviews over next few months of an original Bonnie, Z1 and RD350LC. And a Honda C50?
Classic bikes to review. 1950s, 60s or 70s Triumphs, Nortons, BSAs would be good.
Such a lovely bike!
Great video TMF. 👍. Can see a future in modern classic reviews. If you fancy doing an MV F4 give me a shout. Also know someone with a benelli Tornado 😉
As I watched this my sciatica laughed mercilessly at me as I imagined myself tucking down over the tank..! Nurse quick more ibuprofen...! Still a beautiful bike though..🤣👍

I feel your pain, literally as I have that too. And a degenerative disk in my upper neck
Fantastic!! I walked into a Ducati dealership twice to buy that bike. Each time, after sitting on it for a few seconds, I realized it was just too uncomfortable for me. The seat felt like a piece of plywood (I ended up buying a kawi 9R, which has been the most fun bike I have ever owned, so no regrets), but man the styling is soooo beautiful (I have a model of the bike on one of my bookshelves). Remember being at the Rock Store in CA, and hearing the rattling clutches of Ducatis as they approached us. Everybody would turn around and look in anticipation. Everybody loved that horrible sound (including me). It was awesome. Thank you for posting. You truly made my day! Now if I only knew somebody in the Ukraine who could help me win the raffle.
Hi mate, great looking bike it really is but sounds like a bag of nails but that's a dry clutch for you. I ride a unmolested 4xv R1 and a few years ago mcn did a review and the 4xv came second to this lovely machine, old school love it, cheers. 👍😁🏍️
