Great video. ☺️ I think this might be the first time I've heard of a E400 B9TL bus. I just randomly researched the Enviro 400 on Google after I researched about the gearbox that the B5LH's use even though I already know a lot about buses and I came across this B9TL Enviro 400 and I thought to myself that I should search this up about the B9TL Enviro 400 in Google or KZread and here I am now commenting on this video. ☺️👌

+Omar Diab (LilNetworker) I've found pretty much all B9TLs to be like that.

MrMaguire London doesn't really give a good example, especially when there aren't many chances for our B9s to do any speed.

+Omar Diab (LilNetworker) Yeah, the traffic in London is far too restrictive most of the time. The B9TLs pick up some good speed on route 89, I've found. Usually around the Shooters Hill area.

MrMaguire The 422 is a lovely route for B9s as well, especially on a 60-reg around Charlton, where they kickdown like mad.

+Omar Diab (LilNetworker) These B9TLs have 260bhp, so its one of the reasons that they can pick up speed without any problems.

Far superior in terms of comfort, plus you get more seats with that type.

vPristinePineapple Chassis is the same - both the Enviro 400 at Dublin Bus and Gemini 2 bodywork of many companies like First, Go Ahead and Metroline are mounted on Volvo B9TL chassis. To add to the complexity and confusion of buses, Gemini 2s can also be mounted on VDL DB300 chassis (very common with Arriva London) and the Enviro 400 has options to be fitted with E40D/Trident, Volvo B7TL (only one exists), Volvo B9TL and Scania N230UD chassis

One of the worst looking buses that Alexander-Dennis has ever made. What the heck were they thinking back then? The interior looks cheap and cheerful as well as the seats look rock hard at the back. I can see why Dublin Bus went for Wrightbus bodywork on their recent orders as the interior looks much better on those buses. The ALX400 buses are a lot better than this cheap looking tat and its about time that Alexander-Dennis upped their game now with the Alexander-Dennis Enviro 400MMC which was badly needed and its a much better looking design inside and out. Maybe Dublin Bus will buy some of those in their future orders providing that the Volvo chassis is available as Volvo make some of the best double decker chassis around.

+BritishRail60062 Couldn't agree more. I've never liked the interior on the Enviro 400, especially those hard plastic seats. The ALX400 had the best interior, up until 2001 or so when they changed it.

+MrMaguire I know what you mean mate. They are just as hard as the Urban90 seats that make concrete look comfortable. We have loads of the vile things in London. Especially on the route near me which is the 220 and there is some Hybrids on the 94 at night. The 94 still has some of the ALX400 buses on it but I hear they are being replaced with the Enviro 400MMC's in February 2016 so I am going to enjoy them while I still can. TLA20 and TLA25 are my favourites from the fleet.

+BritishRail60062 A far cry from London United's old V and W reg VAs. Those were identical to London Central's old AVLs down here in South London. Best ALX400s ever, in my opinion. Oh god, those Urban90 seats!

To be fair, they do their job from getting people from A to B which is most important. The "plant pot" seats where supposed to give the Enviro 400 a futuristic look. But instead, it took the design back to something vivid of the American 1950's design minus the decent padding to make the seats comfortable. However I do like the Enviro 400 MMC much better than this and the Streetdeck/Gemini Phase 3. As I think that Wrightbus should made the G3 based on the ALX400 with their own design. But still, I hope that Dublin Bus will consider buying some of those MAN Lion's City double decker buses like Berlin has, but made to Irish spec :).

I’ve never really liked Volvo B9TLs simply because they have no character whatsoever. I was quite glad when the 11 plate examples at NX and the 60 plate examples at BX were withdrawn from London service.
