Honestly their corrosion isn't as bad as I've seen in other furbies and other toys and I've had toys with this much corrosion even work. Honestly the worst I've seen was in a G2 strawberry swirl furby where it was so bad the battery was stuck inside it. Sadly she didn't work and was already in rough shape to begin with. Well at least she was only $12 XD.

Yeah it wasn't too bad tbh 😭😭 I've had some where plastic is melted or chunks of the compartment are just like.. completely missing XD I do have replacement battery contacts and compartments for those cases lol. I hate when they come with the nasty batteries still inside VJDJSJSJV

ALSO HELLO 2005 furby batteru compartments are litterally the worst to clean 😭😭😭 since the batteries go in vertically (?) I'm so sorry you had to deal with that help

@@electronicgore8646 thankfully the other gen 2 furby (there were two of them at the estate sale) works just fine even with corrosion. Wasn’t as bad as the other furby but it was still super messy. He’s the black and white one which are a little more common than the swirl ones.

MY STRAWBERRY SWIRL HAD THE SAME ISSUE alongside being so filthy, missing a leg and having her ears broken. That poor thing somehow ended up working but looking at it at first was genuinely hard

Just tried your way of washing the fur on some furby fakes, it works amazingly! I know this isn't a tutorial video, but I would like to thank you since our own Furby Fake restorations are going well, we plan on giving our Furbish-speaking Coobie new lashes next!

Because I am pretty sure mine could use some work (he won't wake up anymore/immediately falls back to sleep) and I didn't find any good skinning tutorials so far and I know that you have a good knownledge when it comes to Furby repairing!

I only clean 1998s furbies so I'd be terrified to mess with the insides of them. Fake furbies are so cute and i wish I could afford them.

I recently bought a Furbish off of ebay and they said he 'didnt work' but he did i just had to leave his batteries in for a few hours, though he doesnt really work correctly.. any suggestions? Hi there awesome channel! Your videos are super helpful. If you don’t mind me asking, have you ever taken apart a furbish? Mine has a destroyed sync screw mechanism and I can’t find any reference online of what it is supposed to look or behave like. Thank you for your time.

Hello! Furbish doesn’t typically have the sync screw from what I’ve seen, presumably a cost cutting measure. I believe I saw your post on Facebook ! The part that’s broken is the same that broke on my white furbish D: RL factory furby parts seem to be similar enough to furbish ones, you might have to find a suitable replacement for the whole sync switch assembly, I had to solder a new sync switch from a furby to my furbish. The bump on part of the cam gears is meant to press that plastic thing that fell off and press 2 metal tabs together, there could be other fixes but replacing the whole thing is the only one I’ve tried.. There’s a couple screws holding it in the assembly and just 2 solder joints on the sync switch and 2 on the board :3 If you can’t solder, you can try to find pieces that fit onto the assembly from a furby. I don’t remember the location of the screws.. you’ll have to look around and try removing some , i recommend taking pictures before removing parts so you can know which way they go.

What is it that you use to oil it? I tend to use shock oil for RC cars since its sillicon based and plastic safe but im always curious what others use :3

​@@jaimie6935shock oil does work pretty nicely. I use 80 weight which refers to the viscosity or "thickness" of the oil. You want to get a shock oil with a pretty high weight because you don't want it to run into places you don't want it. Like I said I use 80w shock oil and it works great, I've also used it for years on plastic action figures with severely stuck joints and it doesn't damage the plastic over time. When you apply shock oil use a tooth pick dipped into the oil so you apply a drop at a time. Shock oil is VERY slippery and you can easily over oil with it if you aren't careful. Some people use machine oil or WD-40 on animatronic toys but I recommend against that as over time the oil can cause discoloration and even plastic softening where ever it touches.
