The fire alarm in the beginning says everything, this is straight fire.

Im 63 and love this music.

Have only recently found out I have ADHD, it now makes so much sense that dub music was so comforting, so soothing for my soul. It came close to meditation, I couldn't sit and meditate, too self aware but I could get lost in dub. It was something I liked but I now realise I needed. I guess it was not just entertainment it was food for the soul, therapy. I thank all the Dub Clubs I was lucky enough to have access to in London 30 odd years ago. Where no one asked questions of the little foreign white girl quietly leaning up on the speaker, having her insides massaged by the bass. I am thankful for the unspoken (you don't bother us, we won't bother you) I would come out and drive myself home with a sense of internal calm, uplifted, recharged.

Just discovered dub and after growing up listening to rap music I feel like I found a new home. So many samples that I never knew were samples. Just goes to show you how much of an influence Jamaica has on New York. I know Soul, Funk, R&B and Disco is often discussed in the makings of hip hop but why is Dub not talked about as well? So much of the 90's classics feature these sounds. I wonder if it was done on purpose so the people of NY can know who's in the know.

I just wanted to let you know nursing school is scary and overwhelming they want you to know everything about everything. But one deep breath at a time you will crush it. Don't fear nclex use your logic. And most importantly your instructors want you to succeed. Though not strictly dub I guess my first exposure was either an extended version of Bob Marleys Exodus where the instrumental sections were a lot more drawn out and you could just ear everything slowly layering on top of one another. It was epic!

spacemule1 Indeed, I think most dub experts would have to agree that King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown is the most iconic, ground breaking dub record of all time, myself included. Conceived and executed in the album format, each and every track makes my skin tingle and often brings me to tears. I bought my vinyl copy 30 years ago; it still has the same effect on me today. @@alexwainwright2382 i have the same feeling with Scientist- In The Kingdom of Dub as i do with "Rockers Uptown." i don't have them all. I'm sure Heavyweight Dub Champion deserves the title. i love all the vampire, monster, soccer "showdowns". there is a youtube channel that has the original vocal tracks next to the dubs. sorry for the delay in response.
