lovely card Julianne, I was looking and thinking (that's a dangerous thing) the little piece you cut off the wings for the doors you could just cut to the x then that would leave the rest to go up to the the card fold and you would not have a cut...

The 'mechanism' piece is 4-7/8" long so you would have to trim down to card width (4-1/8") but yes, you're probably right, it's not necessary to remove the whole segment, just easier to explain
