🟥 DISCLAIMER: I make these videos to share my own personal methods and techniques for how I make cold process soap. These videos are not intended as tutorials for beginners. The content I create is meant for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can permanently damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear during the entire soapmaking process, even while cleaning up. I hope you find watching my videos helpful or entertaining. However, due to the many variables that can affect a particular batch of soap, if you do try any of my methods or techniques that I use in my videos, I cannot be held liable or responsible for your results.

Seems like forever since I've posted a video! Hope you're all doing well! :) I just wanted to mention a quick note about the water amount. I used a 33% lye solution (multiplying the lye amount by 2), but you may want to use more water so the mixture is easier to blend (multiply the lye amount by 2.2 instead). Thanks so much for watching! - Holly :)

Thank you Holly. I made two batches last week using bison tallow in one and leaving the second one vegan. I always use the dual lye calculator for my shaving soap recipes. Love your black bowls. So elegant! And like always enjoyed your therapeutic video. Thank you

I get much better working time when I hot processes these in a crock pot and all of my customers have mentioned they are loving my new recipes that don’t container any castor or babassu oil. It’s all solids and the foam seems to be much richer and has a lasting density for really course hair. I have been adding some sustainably sourced slippery elm bark after the cook as well. Helps the glide of the razor.

Does this shaving soap have a calculated lye deficit or is the glycerin sufficient as a nourishing component in this soap. In my recipe I calculated an 8% lye deficit for this soap. How long does this soap have to mature before it can be used? Thank you dear Holly

You definitely need to run it through a soap calculator if you make any changes at all. And I’d recommend even running my numbers to rough a soap calculator just to make sure. 😊 Thanks for watching!

Открою вам секрет, смешивайте твердые масла и разбавленную щелочь, масла в щелочи сами растают , и не надо их разогревать отдельно . Это будет намного проще)

Hello. Sorry, I can't speak English very well, I live in Iran😔 I didn't understand the amount of raw materials for the recipe, I'm in the early stages of learning soap making. How much water did you use to dissolve potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide? Is it possible to share a more detailed recipe with me?
