Minor mistake: You CAN actually BLOCK the defib, although it doesn't get reflected. In your video the block failed because they were aiming at your feet instead of your body. Loved the Hydrogen collider at 6:20

Pretty sure it's a discrepancy between FP and TP animations, but you could be right. Another explanation is what I talk about at the start of the video: deflect sometimes just don't work. And because of this, I should have tried the defib more than once... Thanks for the heads up!

That was sooooo fun to watch

As an average player im destroying in every match i play in with the dual blades. Literally 9/10 matches im winning. The last game i played i joined the match late with the other team seconds away from finishing power shift, but i ziplined to the platform and then killed everyone. Then for the entire match i completely carried my team who was seconds away from losing to victory. The dual blades are crack once you learn how to use them.

@@maymayman0 yeah I’m not really a fan of them on other modes lol I haven’t tried it on power shift, but it’s pretty difficult to get close to anyone in TA and cashout. Although I don’t think the Kyoto map is particularly suitable for melee in general 😅

@@maymayman0 i mainly play power shift and bank it which have simpler objectives so its easy to just run around racking up kills while still helping out your team, but i have done pretty decent in cashout as well. I do usually use a famas in cashout tho. TA idgaf i hate tht mode lol.

@@Zlittlepenguin kyoto for any mode other than power shift the dual blades are horrible. The map is too open for you to use any melee weapons in general unless ure really good. But every other map ive been doing pretty good w dual blade. You should use them on power shift tho. Any map including kyoto the dual blades are cracked. Im averaging like 10 kills nd 3 deaths all while focusing on the objective.

@@mohammadalkhani6714 I don’t generally like power shift tbh unless I’ve got some challenges I have to do for it, and unfortunately with the ranked changes I’m kind of glued to world tour and TA at the moment 😅 but we have like 100 days left, I’m sure I’ll play it eventually

I love this - as a dual blade main myself its the most fun ive had in the finals in a while besides acting like im in AOT lmao. Def have had some crazy reflects.

Would like to see more vids like this for mastery. I definitely like them and they can work if you put *a lot* of effort in. I'm not there yet, but I'd love to know more about how these new weapons work so I can master them faster.

I love the dual blades but it needs a buff

@mohammadalkhani6714 Brother, they are super weak The deflect cone is very tragic, and the angle it has is laughable. Literally shooting at your feet deletes your blades and well the fact that you cant cancel an attack into a parry is very very bad Buffs can be done without tweaking numbers

Im a pretty average player to.

Nice vid, very informative. As I understand it ( non interactions being considered) the deflect is more of a cone of probability type of thing, and the closer you are the more likely it is to work. The rest is just 80% dmg reduction. Which is nice but shouldn't to be abused without ample caution.

Yes, a cone like other guns when not aiming down sight

I’m pretty sure the damage reflection is variable based on where your cross hair is. If you’re deflecting at the edge of its range you’ll deflect only about 40% damage

Hey there great video! Just wanted to point out that you forgot about the taser, from what i have experienced it can be deflected but actually deals damage when deflected for some reason it is rly weird at the moment. Got oneshot by my own taser a couple of days ago

We did test it since I show stun has no effect, but I did leave out the part where I block as I get tased. Cqn't deflect it!

Thanks for the sub! It doesn't always deflect but it's a bug that I cannot explain. When it does deflect, then there is no problem and it can keep deflecting forever in this setup.

OK I have follow up questions; at the start of the video you say that sometimes the deflections don't work? If sometimes the deflections do not work then surely infinite deflections would not be possible because eventually one of them would fail?

I can't explain this bug either... But yeah sometimes you deflect and nothing is sent back. We did have more trouble in some private games than others due to it.

but how loose can I be with my deflects or the angle I aim them in? is it like the riot shield where it blocks essentially nothing and covers like my forearm and not much else? Do I deflect when I'm supposed to be shot or is there a hitbox for it? ykno is it like a deflecto-gel smothered on the front of my character or is it like a parry like dark souls or tf2's airblast just without the timing aspect. hey talking about the timing aspect, this weapon could've had a lot more depth if it WERE based on timed-parries giving perfectly accurate counterattacks instead of how it is now

I intended to talk about it, but because it's not a weapon guide and this kind of knowledge is not useful for the rest of the video, I just removed it from the script altogether! The angle is not very generous. It's way worse than the riot shield, and you don't give the riot shield a lot of credit. You deflect when you are supposed to get shot, but you can still get shot while deflecting if the angle from the damage source and your crosshair is too high. I guess the best is to get a feel for it in the training range by using the dummies that constantly shoot. And I do agree that no timing required and no stamina/cooldown + no mobility ability make the weapon bland. Like the riot shield. Except it's worse.

I make a long list of tests, then try them all out with a person for about two hours. Then I trim everything, look back at the clips, get more ideas, make the thumbnails, then try more thing, get carried away, record things for another video or make a discovery… then I write the script, start editing, realize I forgot to record some interactions, go record them. Then I realize I’m missing even more and go record them. Every time, I need to ask someone to come start a private match with me and do what I ask them, else I could not make this content. Then I edit for hours, and finally post it! So, a few days each time, and many hours. I’m glad it’s paying off, been doing it for years only to get 600-1000 views

Depends on where you are looking at and where they shoot exactly but yes what you describe can happen easily

Something i havent tested and sadly didnt seem to be answered here was shotguns? It doesnt make sense for an entire shotgun's spread of bullets, so im curious how the calculations work

@@Jinko_ thanks for clarifying Yay consistent gameplay experience Boo unrealistic To be fair slower projectiles like grenades, knives, bows etc shoild be better blocked than bullets (especially high fire rate) anyway so this is still a very gamey wrapon as opposed yo realistic so thats not too bad

So what is the radius of deflection? How far Y and how far X can I deflect projectiles and gain that 80% damage reduction? I know you have to be aiming at the enemy like you're wielding a gun to defect and hit the enemy with their own bullets, but sometimes I just need defense and I'm not focusing on killing an enemy super far away 😂

@@Jinko_ It's because I've had a situation where 2 people were shooting at me, and something seemed as if it wasn't quite working as intended. It could've just been the weird angles that the deflect doesn't work, but I felt like I was always deflecting only one of the enemies' bullets
