    Good honest review mate. I bought one of the Kickass 100 litre dual zone fridges about 6 or 7 months ago and it runs like a treat! Its a big beast of a thing but holds heaps of food/drink.

    Great review. Looks like the perfect setup. Too many $$ setups that are permanent in the vehicle and overkill if you only do a few trips a year. Looks like they were listening too, new ones have a quick release strap for easy removal which is good if you want to move it around, lend to someone or don't want things stolen.

    Its a great bit of kit, I've had mine in for 12 months too (since seeing your vid on it the first time, i went out and got one) and I agree the only thing I can fault is those hold down bolts, ive got it in along side my drawers in the canopy and they were nearly impossible to install 😂 cheers for the vid 🤙

    Informative video as always Damo. Good to see you went with conqueror grey again! Unrelated question - are you planning to put a snorkel on? Planning to put one on mine soon and wanted to check you weren’t across any negatives with the raptor snorkels. Cheers, Damo

    G’day mate, I haven’t really heard anything negative about the snorkels currently available on the market. I’m personally waiting for a safari snorkel to come available (if they will ever make one?) I would prefer a moulded snorkel over the tube fabrication style purely because they are quieter.

    How did you mount the battery box and the fridge? I'm looking for a good solution that will be easy to take in and out of the tub as well as be secure enough to stop it moving around off road or corrugated roads. The reason I want it easy to be taken in and out is because I carry loads in my bed from time to time and I want to be able to put in the battery and fridge and then go on a trip and be able to take them out after and use my truck like a normal ute.

    G’day Damo I’m looking hard at installing one of these and have a Couple of questions…. 1. Kickass sell a battery isolator (also plug & play) - is it worth installing one of these also? 2. Does the DCDC charger have a builtin solar regulator or do you use one between your blanket and battery? Thanks for your informative vids Cheers

  • @RoundTheFire

    @RoundTheFire

    No need to install a battery isolator if you are installing the DCDC charger, it works as both an isolator and a solar regulator 👍🏻

    Here I was worried about the possibility of some water getting on one (when I get one) while it's under the tonneau cover, till U said your goes through the auto wash 😂. Hey mate what solar panel is that?

  • @RoundTheFire

    @RoundTheFire

    4 жыл бұрын

    Mate I just run the “KINGS” 200W panel. The output from the panel is very inconsistent so you need to run the supplied solar regulator to the battery even though the battery is able to take unregulated solar.

    Disable the smart charge from dealer then it allows the DCDC charger to work straight up. Input from alternator is very poor.

    Hey mate. For my raptor I'm grabbing a quote of "Powertune 4x4" to get a dual battery set up for me, along with a fridge slide and tub racks. They suggested against having tub racks installed, the battery and fridge would be exposed to the elements, which would ruin both. Would you agree? I'm taking it mostly off-road tenting and looking for extra space in the tray (poles/swag/recovery gear) but NEED a fridge (and the battery box) to survive :P

  • @RoundTheFire

    Great set up 👍🏻...all manufacturers recommended placement of a second battery is some place clean and dry...I’ve kept mine in an open tub exposed to all elements for 2 years now I guess it will come down to how much you trust their gear? Can’t beat a fridge for the outdoors

  • @RoundTheFire

    This unit comes with 25A DC/DC charger. It is highly advised to use a DC/DC or it takes ages to charge your battery. A 25AMP/H charger will fill your normal 120Amp battery from dead to full in about 4-5 hours rather than direct from your alternator or solar could take days, if ever.
