I thought I was getting the "willow song" alone but I got the "ave maria" as a bonus to boot ! I thought that her performance was excellent. It's one matter to sing this these arias ( some might call them just one aria with two parts ) as part of a solo recital of many arias, as in this video clip, but quite another to sing them in a full operatic performance of Otello. It's difficult to summon all the pathos and emotion that's required to sing these arias well in a recital as opposed to the real performance where the story and action gradually lead up to the dramatic moment of Desdemona's willow song and ave maria. After all, she's going to be murdered shortly ! There are many great renditions of these arias but I recommend listening to Marina Polavskaya recorded during the full Otello opera. It's on KZread.
Dusica is the most soulful singer. Her technique and diction are faultless but there is so much more there. Depth, character, soul. So touching.
A beautiful performance. Impeccable diction and phrasing. An old favourite of mine was the Anna Moffo/Franco Ferrara version on an RCA recital disc back in the 1970's ('A Verdi Collaboration'), but this matches it.
An excellent performance of a wonderful piece. The perfect voice and she is very beautiful too.
Simply gorgeous! 🎉🎉
Dusica you are wonderful!!!!!! beautiful memories from you and all the collegues in Rome!!!!! God bless you
Renata Tebaldi from Serbia...
Beautiful singing. Impeccable diction. Entirely convincing and moving too despite being unstaged.
Great potential! Brava, Dusica.
Incredible talent!
magnifique
I like the depth of timbre here. Really quite beautiful. Where is she based these days?

Thanks for your comment. Dušica splits her time between Paris and Belgrade, where she lives with her husband, French baritone Ugo Rabec, and their one-year-old daughter. Her forthcoming performances include with the Serbian Philharmonic and with the Teatro Lirico in Trieste. You can find out more here sermodus.com/artists-at-sermodus/dusica-bijelic-soprano/
So pretty..... Dusica!! Your sound is so beautiful.... I miss you
Splendid Dusica....I love your voice !
Beautiful. But I can’t believe that no one from the stage crew noticed the shadow of the microphone and tech equipment on her face? It was so distracting and a shame.
Otello must be a real crazy nut for even thinking of killing such a beauty, and that goes down well with the voice.A beautiful good lyric voice ,but for this aria should be combined with a more darker dramatic sound and texture, this is more preferable to my ears, There is nothing wrong if Dusica should listen to Tebaldi ,because her intonation is very similar, and the results can achieve a better colour with the voice.Beside your diction, the phrasing is outstanding and credible, look after your gift and do not be put under pressure by singing wrong roles.making money for others and you will end up with wrecked voice .All the best . I disagree on darker sound... Desdemona is about 18... Shakespearean but nevertheless a teen...
