Why does my DT Swiss 350 hub sound more like a i9 Hyrda, I haven't done anything to it, just got it from the bike shop

The hub is new? Probably the ratchet has a lot od grease, it makes hub silent.
You don't need a bell or horn with those hubs, do you?

The 350s are almost silent once greased and on the bike. Quieter even than shimano. My zipp 202 sound like a chainsaw by comparison.

nope not at all. when i’m approaching somebody that i’m passing (i have 240’s on one of my bikes) i just lightly step off and backpedal a little bit and people get right out of the way.
Have you heard the 60T upgrade for the 350? $20 cost.
If sound was all that mattered, the original Ratchet 36 would be the clear winner. That just sounds badass!

They dont sell the 370 anymore The 350 and the shimano both have 36poe

how you add that ratchet on the 180 ? do i have too remove anything or just add it ?

Default ratchet for 180 EXP is 36t

Just pop the freehub body off and swap the 36t ratchet with a 54t

@waquzy Right, the EXP has a different rachet system and requires a special tool to remove the thread in part, i ordered a set of carbon wheels with the 240 EXP and bought the 54 upgrade for the EXP hub, also the tool to remove the hub mounted part, just takes time to arrive

Are the 36 or 52 any louder than the 18s? My new 350s are just too quiet 😢

The new 350 has 36T as default. Less grease makes ratchet louder.

why tf they stop so fast lol? looks like some old cup and cone hub that has not been regreased/ taken care of in a long time

due to the amount of ratchet's teeth and a lot of factory grease inside

@@EvanliteCycling i see. i wonder why there s no people complaining about it. this seems like a big deal to me honestly. this hubs it s not really all about the performance after all. the noise and fast actuation with the many ratchet teeth isn t worth it.

Too much resistance..... the spin time is short...
