    Abigal works really well for exploiting the killer bee biome for tons of honey which can be really fun for a challenge run to just eat honey products with out bee boxes, with the end goal being to kill bee queen. to add an extra layer of difficulty you can add only using honey based healing and possibly only bare handed and bee based weapons such as blow darts.

    Just found ur channel: I'm starting ur Wendy play through. I have only watched the first few mins but so far I gotta say it's excellent, 10 out of 10. Is it too early to give it a 10??? I don't think so. Ur commentary insight n thought process is interesting and insightful, especially for new players and ur mic quality is excellent. I like longer length play through videos, especially with the speed up parts. It means the viewer gets to see a lot of game progress. Short 15-20 min videos are way too short imo. Music is very good too. I really like these l9ng term worlds too. One year or a few seasons is too short. I have just started watching as I said. I hope ur channel grows and to see more content/vid from u. I hope if ur good enough or like a challenge u might try u long term lights out world. There is only 1 or 2 good light out server play through vids. I think blood raven has about the only decent lights out solo games I have found.

    You can actually avoid beefalo being in the heat during winter (but only in winter) if you go in caves for once. Just go in caves when mating season begins and then return to the surface and a beefalo will be calm again.

    I main Wigfrid and basically live off cooked monster meat early game, mostly from killing spiders. Wigfrids health regen/sanity perk plus spider glands are more than enough to keep health near max 99% of the time and have high sanity if desired. I think a lot of decently experienced Wigfrid players dont understand how easy it is to survive off just cooked monster meat. U can also manage hunger and sanity a little by eating during the day and fighting shadow creatures when they appear then boost sanity a little at dusk/night if u want/need to play it safe. As u said cooked monster meat -3 health hurts very little.

  • @SwankyPsammead

    @SwankyPsammead

    5 жыл бұрын

    Haha, yes, I play her quite similarly! I don't even bother keeping her Sanity up; whenever I play a character with a naturally high damage modifier like Wigfrid or Wolfgang I tend to go into full Edgy Rick mode, insane 24/7 with like 5 stacks of 40 nightmare fuel in my inventory at all times XD

  • @shanejett3550

    @shanejett3550

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@SwankyPsammead: yeah I play that way now especially in my summer only world, plus late game no need to fight much, living in cave 90% of the time means insane most of the time, prob have more than two chests full of nightmare fuel and wish I also had the corresponding living logs for nightmare swords. No way to get a tamo, n I use a tent on average once every 3000 days. This play style works fine for me 99% of the time bc I am very comfortable and experienced playing this way and I do it under what I consider ideal conditions. Ideal conditions are strong character, my own server or low ping servers, no complications or perceivable complications. I am a very low risk player and there is deff a fine line between risk and reward but it means I rarely ever die. I will maintain sanity and usually have 50% or nearly full sanity when doing tasks such as base building, riding beef searching for and carrying suspicions marble pieces, high risk situations (very wet, freezing, frog rain, no ability to make decent weapons/armour, no healing), boss fighting and a few other situations that I don't want to waste time fighting shadow creature or get distracted. I already have more nightmare fuel than I can use so it's pointless, risky and counterproductive being insane in these situations. I wouldn't recommend that play style for newer/inexperienced players tho. Nightmare fuel is highly valuable YES and having to deliberatly farm nightmare fuel bc there is very little for base seems kinda noobish and in my own servers is never necessary BUT I think it's more important to emphasize how to play well and survive first over trying to play very efficiently and productively. I have meet players that have ideas to do this and that, specifically make a prehistihatanator, shadow manipulator, dark swords etc but then mention have never survived summer. Edgy Ricks suggested/encouraged play style is more than risky for inexperienced, average players, I guarantee it will mostly result in death. There is a big learning curve in this game and my skill and play style has changed massively. When I started playing I was almost certainly dead if I went insane bc I didn't know how to kite n fight shadow creatures. I played Wilson, picked flowers, made garlands like a noob. Now I play insane at least 95% not really deliberately but bc I'm comfortable play this way but in between was a slow progression of play style, skill, knowledge n experience.

  • @shanejett3550

    @shanejett3550

    @TANG WEI SHUN -: yea there is a massive learning curve in this game. I tried to learn everything from experience only, early on, probably for the first year IRL I played. This was a big part of the fun of this game IMO - learning, experiencing and facing new challenges. Most players, including myself are not very good at learning/teaching themselves to play DST well. After a while I meet some good players and learnt a lot from them. Watching good DST KZreadrs and the wiki will help new players reach the end of the learning curve exponentially faster. After struggling how to play DST for a while I started using wiki and KZread to learn how to play much better. The game became relatively easy. I don't think picking flowers or making a garland is a big deal or needs to be a big NO NO. Yes it's stupid to start picking flowers as soon as you join or start a server bc u start with 100% sanity, more than enough for at least a few days before needing to worry. There is a grassland bee biom on most servers with billions of flowers. Picking 12 or more flowers in that biom will barely affect anyone.

  • @shanejett3550

    @TANG WEI SHUN -: not sure why roses r useless or if ur joking or being sarcastic? They are exactly the same as ordinary flower except they hurt when picked. The reason experienced players say not to pick flowers is bc they produce butterflies. Butterflies r good for hunger and hp. Picking flowers = less flowers = less butterflies.

  • @shanejett3550

    @shanejett3550

    4 жыл бұрын

    @TANG WEI SHUN -: still not sure ur point. The roses are free flowers doesn't make any sense to me but whatever floats ur goat. Don't pick roses and u won't lose any health to begin with. If u need sanity etc pick flowers. Don't pick any flowers near bee boxes. It's pretty simple. The more flowers scattered around the map the more butterflies you'll probably encounter as opposed to having less. This means more renewable easy food &hp.

    I actually think hounds are pretty broken at this point, there's nothing whatsoever you can do against them after day 100, just to get ONE hit in you have to be ready to take 60+ damage. The ONLY way I know of to deal with them without having abigail or bernie to kill/distract them with you, is hiding in a bush hat near something that can take them out, if you don't hide near something the hounds will lose to, they will just camp your body LITERALLY FOREVER.

    In my experience, having caves on doesn't usually cause issues unless you have 2 or 3 players in the caves and surface simultaneously. If the beefalo is not yet fully domesticated, drop your pre-crafted Salt Lick and move far away from it until the frog rain is over. (This is what I do to protect Friedrich’s daughter George Eliot when a frog rain occurs in Part 3 of this series). If the frogs and beefalo have already begun to attack one another, you may need to use the Pan Flute or Sleepytime Stories to break it up before you leave. If the beefalo IS fully domesticated, you can do whatever you’d normally do during Frog Rain. Beefalo and frogs will only aggress each other when beefalo are in heat, and fully domesticated beefalo will never go into heat, so there’s nothing to worry about. More general advice: Try to start taming your beefalo in summer or fall, so that you are done taming it well before spring comes. Spring makes beefalo taming 10x harder due to the endless mating season and hazards like Frog Rain, which is why I prefer to rush one immediately.

    The difficulty is about the same; the reward is significantly better. Reworked Wendy gets a 1.54x damage modifier when attacking the same target as Abigail, which boosts a war-saddled Ornery Beefalo's damage from 66 to 101.64 and melts bosses at roughly the speed of a Wolfgang with an infinite supply of tentacle spikes.
