I, as 'an American, feel a golden opportunity was missed when he was cutting with and talking about his [utility] knife that the other didn't pull out their [utility] knife and say "That's not a knife, now that's a knife" Paul Hogan style... We Americans loved that one liner so much we still talk about it, utilize it, and say it 30 to 40 years later... I know... it doesn't take much to make us happy I guess...

Hey bud, I'm in qld and we flooded downstairs, all the gyprock has been ripped up to 1200mm from the floor. Pretty keen to make sure this never happens again. I've waterproofed the external perimeter and now I want to make sure it's bulletproof inside. How water resistant is this stuff? I'm an amateur and will be doing it myself AGAIN

It's not very resistant to be honest. You want to get a product called rescom. It can get drowned in water and be perfectly fine. Coffee on same thickness as your existing walls for a good blend. Tell them Maxkil sent you
Why did you screw the otherside, im trying to get some tips so i can do my own bathrrom, thanks

Nails pop out over time. Screws dont
Curious that you don’t install infield screws? Or do you do that after?
@Maxkil

@@Maxkil thanks! I do enjoy watching you guys drywall; and the yellow mud :-). Don’t see much of that up here in Canada 🇨🇦.
Just a curious question in the down under do you guys insulate your walls?

It's pretty rare not to insulate walls, but I'm in the country and insulation just gives mice somewhere nice and warm to nest.

No, there's lots of things we don't do vs overseas. Especially when it comes to roofs, windows and walls. We don't get the freezing temps

so many comments about not using stud adhesive lmao....gyprock or gtek both explicitly state stud adhesive should not be used in tiled areas, instead you must use fasteners at shorter centers, sure other wr board manufacturers would state the same

Will using stud adhesive in a tiled area be damaging to the board? Or just not needed because of the shorter screw intervals?
Hi
No router ?

Australian building Industry tradies don’t have that fancy tool, everything they do is about speed, find the quickest way to get it done then go to the next jobsite. They believe time is money which is true. Every roughy cut on the plaster board will get cover up with mud anyway.

By the time you go get a router, the holes are cut with a knife and saw. It's only plasterboard, not timber.
Wish every wet area was wr board, not villa!

Why would you want every wet area water resistant and not water proof? Villa board is 100% water proof so you’ll never have any worries with water leaks. Resistant is in no form of stopping water from damaging the room

@@lukemaher9613 obviously it's gone over your head. But that's all good. Wish is the key word.
I don't know why we're not using glue here! Fine don't use glue but put mechanical fixings 3,6 and 9 to take its place because you forgot the glue. It happens....👍

Actually I explain later I screw the rest of sheet once we get all of it up

Hmmm. No stud adhesive, and no insulation. If you want something done quick pay a tradie, and if you want a job well done, do it yourself!

You don't use stud adhesive on an area that is tiled. It will eventually pop the tiles
