Dry Storing Peonies | Spring Flower Bar | Our 1st Farmers Market | Vlog
The Peonies are in full bloom, spring is rolling along in all re beauty in the gardens and this we we are bring it all to you. We start off cutting and processing armloads of peonies and some we are dry storing for an extended season. To dry store you need to take off all of the foliage except the bit at the very top around the bud. The bud must be in the firmer marshmallow stage . Take a few stems and wrap up in paper, we used news paper. we do about 5 to 8 stems per wrap, we then tuck into a box and place in a cooler out of light. To rehydrate recut stems and place in water for a few hours and the will spring back to life. Riley finished one of our first weddings in the studio this week and the we head to a pop up flower bar at an art studio in McMinnville Oregon. Next up our first Farmers Market in four years! We use to do this market for years and we stopped in 2020. The kids and I are bringing the farm back to just selling retail for the most part and this was one of our first big changes. It was a big success and we so enjoyed the community and seeing all the folks that support our family farm . I hope you enjoy this weeks video!

You inspired me to pick a beautiful bouquet of my 3 colors of fresh Peonies tonight (white, dark pink & light pink herbaceous peonies). My hubby’s grandma planted the White ones with the Red Dot back in the 1930’s and they’re still going strong 💗 *I’m glad you told us about when to pick them, very good advice!

Beautiful Farmer’s Market set up! I loved the idea of making an arrangement to show off your design skills. I dry stored some of my peonies this year for Mother’s Day bouquets and it worked great! As always, thanks so much for another inspiring video.

I enjoyed your video, thank you for letting us tag along and much success with future market sales. The two peony plants that I moved to a new location in my yard earlier this Spring are still doing well, they are about 12 inches tall and still growing, and I have put them on a plant food schedule. I hope to have blooms this year.

Yall did great! The flower's were beautiful as well. Great prices too. Question! I saw a hanging basket between baskets of Petunias and the basket I'm asking about has little purple flower's. I have a hanging basket just like that but idk what kind of flower's they are. I actually got it out of the dump at tractor supply. Also a hanging basket just like the purple but their small red flower's. I do get quite a bit out of the dumsters. But the flower's look like miniature Petunias. Would you happen to know what their called!?? And Happy Birthday to your son!!

Peonies don't really need much to bloom, I think it just takes time and they do need cold spell to bloom well.
May I also ask the name of the roses at 10:46 ? 💐💚🙃
Hello, could you give me some advice on my peony plants, I have a bunch, but for some of them, it's the 3rd year and aren't flowering I think I plant them to deep. Do I dig them up and replant them less deeper, or should I just leave them for another year.? Thank you. I love your videos by the way..

Wait till fall to dig up if you do, I think sometimes if you live in a warmer climate you would need to lift and plant more shallow not deeper.

They need the roots to be cold to flower so if to deep they might not bloom well. best of luck to you!

Red charm is a dark red one, It was a peony, tulips are done for us here.

The house is on Crowley road and everyone just called it the Crowley house so that was the name of the farm.
