Thanks brother, I'm hoping they'll do just what he's wanting. I prefer this Z series cone as well. I have a bunch of them, and thaey fit perfectly, and look much better.

I watch the video earlier today My dad always told me if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything ,,but, what is the X-Max on those things Chuck that looks like an absolutely horrendous motor for a 7,5-in spider,, and you know I just started building sub,, but now I'm confused in my head I thought the objective was to go heavier cone heavier coil for more BL,, and try to dumb it down for me Chuck

The basket design is the limiting factor to utilize a larger diameter spider unfortunately, due to the spokes on the basket being inset.... and it uses a 60mm wind height on the coil originally, and that's what I'm going back with. I'm using a larger wire flat aluminum coil instead of copper. I'll make a video on the xmax capabilities, but I think it's 23-24mm on that. To increase BL, you want to increase the amount of wire(LE) in the gap. So I changed these to D1 coils to wire each sub in series, and then parallel both together for a 1 ohm load. They were D4 and not utilizing all the wire running each sub in parallel. Also by decreasing the moving mass(Mms) it raises the sensitivity and helps with efficiency. Needs less power from the amplifier to get the same or greater output.... so he's gaining amplifier efficiency as well. I hope I explained it OK?

@@Chuck_Sanders Yes sir I understand what you're doing now so the rebuild was more for a change of the impedance level of the woofer,, I know you're going to tell me you just shut up after this one but,, he didn't want to just upgrade the basket too since you changed the rest of the parts😬

@@FrankStPeter well, most all other 10" baskets don't have much bigger spider Landings, and the 10" Ti basket has only an 8.5" spider. But Sundown motors usually have a wonky bolt pattern as well, which means drilling baskets. He really just wanted to upgrade them a bit. I'm hoping these turn out great for him. They should play very well. I'll have some videos up tomorrow, as I have mated the spiders together and ready to go.

@@Chuck_Sanderssee I didn't think about that,, well you know me Chuck I like to figure out which way I want to go and then figure out how to fix the problems like created and when I finish this box this weekend to see if these 18's are going to hold together 🤔

@@FrankStPeter I get it man. I do it at times as well. I'm sure they'll hold up. And sound great for you.
