Thank you for an in depth presentstion on a complex eye condition Such information is needed to urge people to seek expert advice when changes in vision is first noticed . It is encouraging that with the proper diet and lifestyle changes I have quite a lot of control in slowing the progression of this disorder.

Thank you. Very interesting presentation. I note that where you refer to Drusen you make no mention of a difference between Drusen in the macular itself or the rest of the retina. Is that because you are only referring to the macular area? Many thanks, Tony

Stem Cell Therapy has been the most promising treatment for Macular Degeneration so far. Advancells has already proven its worth and helped managed people in getting a new vision to life.

I don't understand why taking a vitamin that can help preserve eyesight would ever be considered a financial issue when they are not expensive. Last week I was diagnosed with early AMD and cataracts and I'm only 52! I'm very worried as my mother has wet and stopped driving in her mid 60"s even though she had multiple eye injections for several years. I was told, by my retinal specialist, to take the AREDS 2 vitamin supplement. I started immediately! The vitamin supplement is only about $10 a month. Very affordable! How much is your eyesight worth?

This may refer to the UK's NHS which is driven to only provide what it regards as essential treatments.

If it works. I believe they’re saying that vitamins only makes a difference after it’s more advanced.

The AREDS 2 study shows that taking the vitamine supplement works only during the intermediate stage in 25% of cases. There is no benefit when taking during the early stage, or advanced stage.

It seems like it's all about being diagnosed early isn't it? You are lucky. I don't know why I slipped through the cracks but shouldn't take test for this after you're 50 years old? It's easy all I have to do is look at see if there's Distortions

Hi, you should be able to see the grid in black and white. If you have any concerns it's important to speak to your optician or eye specialist.

This is good info, but out of date. Not covered is the RPE cell treatment by Lineage Cell Therapeutics, which has reversed geographic atrophy in several patients.
